For those of you who have no idea what a dietitian does, or even who thinks they have a vague understanding, this one’s for you 👋🏼
From my experience, people initially think that dietitians are the food “police” 🚨: someone who makes you give up your favourite foods, judges you for what you eat and forces you consume green juices and salads everyday. After a consultation, these same people are very glad to hear that this is so far from the truth 🥳
Whilst yes, dietitians do promote the intake of nutritious foods, we also promote food freedom and reject labelling specific foods as “good”, “bad” or “clean” 🧼
We are just humans who love food, and understand that food is not just for fuelling our bodies, but also for celebrating, socialising and consuming just because it tastes damn good! 🥗🎂
The main role of a dietitian is to:
🔹Help you understand the relationship between food and health using evidence based information
🔹Assist you with improving your health outcomes
🔹Assist you with achieving YOUR nutrition related goals
🔹Achieving all of the above whilst working with the individual to tailor the advice and recommendations to their specific goals and lifestyle
So, if any of these points make you think that seeing a dietitian will benefit you, feel free to reach out via DMs and book in for a FREE 15 minute discovery call, where we can chat about whether an appointment is right for you and your goals ✨
