The Australian Government has announced several changes to secure the future of the NDIS National Disability Insurance Scheme.

The new way of doing planning – called new framework planning – is part of these changes. New framework planning will deliver fairer and more consistent budgets through a new support needs assessment process and budget method.

Following consultation with people with disability and their families, carers and advocates, the rollout of new framework planning will be delayed until 1 April 2027.

This will allow more time to:
☑️ listen to feedback
☑️ test proposed rules and processes
☑️ share more detailed information about the transition.

Participants do not need to take any action immediately.
Current eligibility and planning policies remain in place. Participants should continue to access their disability-related supports and services as outlined in their existing plans.

The NDIA will let participants know in advance if anything affects them personally.

Smashing wickets and breaking barriers — Michael Ford is proving that his disability is not a limitation, but a strength. 💪

The Mooroopna Cricket Club spin bowler claimed 10 wickets, including a grand final hat-trick, at his fourth National Cricket Inclusion Championships — and he’s not slowing down. 🏏

With the right supports in place to help achieve his goals, Michael is living independently, supporting other people with disability, and mentoring young cricketers coming through the ranks.

Whether you’re looking for a fresh start, returning to the workforce, exploring volunteer opportunities or considering a more meaningful career path, this session is a great place to begin.
