We walked the talk in time for Social Inclusion Week. 👩‍🦯

This week’s Walk and Talk event in Wagga Wagga was a powerful reminder of why accessibility matters.

Coordinated by the Wagga Access Reference Group – a partnership between Intereach, Regional Disability Advocacy Service, and City of Wagga Wagga – the walk gave participants firsthand insight into the challenges faced by people with disability. 👨‍🦽

Participants used mobility devices and equipment provided by Hospital at Home Wagga Wagga and Guide Dogs Australia, helping to highlight the real-world barriers experienced every day. 🐕‍🦺

Experiencing these barriers sparks meaningful conversations and drives real change – and is the perfect lead-up to Social Inclusion Week from November 22–29.

All week, Intereach will be hosting activities across our footprint to Connect, Collaborate, and Celebrate.

This morning our Mildura team walked alongside local community members in support of the White Ribbon Australia Walk.
Standing in solidarity with women and families affected by violence helps amplify an important message - that preventing violence against women starts with education, respect and action from all of us.

Events like this remind us of the role we all play in fostering respectful relationships and safe communities.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who walked with us this morning. 🤍

Today is International Mens Day - Celebrating Men and Boys

At Intereach, we’re proud to recognise the important role men play in building strong, connected and compassionate communities.

This year’s theme, ‘Celebrating Men and Boys’, reminds us how powerful positive role modelling can be. When men step into caring and community-focused roles, they challenge outdated stereotypes, promote respect, and show boys and young men that empathy, kindness and connection are strengths.

We’re grateful for the men across our organisation - and in our communities - who bring patience, leadership and care to the people they support every day. Your work makes a genuine difference.

We encourage all men and boys to keep showing up, supporting one another, and helping create safer and more inclusive communities for everyone.

“Intereach gave me an opportunity because they believed in my capabilities. Here, I’ve found a culture that values openness, empathy, and inclusion.”

For Inclusion at Work Week, we’re proud to share how Intereach is breaking barriers for people with hidden disabilities through the globally recognised Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Australia & New Zealand program. 🌻

By becoming a corporate member, we’re creating workplaces and communities where everyone feels valued, supported, and understood.

Hear from our team members Andrea and Magdalena about what the Sunflower means to them — and why inclusion matters every day, not just this week.

Today on World Kindness Day, we encourage you to make kindness a habit every day. 🫶

Because even the smallest of gestures can make a big difference in the lives of the people around us.

Whether it’s a smile, a shared meal, or a fundraiser for a local cause, kindness builds stronger, more connected communities. 💪

At Intereach, kindness and compassion are at the heart of everything we do. Our Co-CEO Yvette reminds us: “You never know what someone is going through. Be the kindness you want to see". 💛

What are your plans on Thursday 13 November?

Got time for a coffee? A few minutes to chat?☕

Then you’ve got the time (and the skills) to take part in World Kindness Day!

The smallest act of kindness can mean the world to a friend, colleague, or stranger. You could:

💛 Say, G’day
💛 Give someone a compliment
💛 Buy a coffee for a friend or workmate
💛 Call someone you haven’t spoken to in a while
💛 Surprise someone with flowers or homemade cupcakes
💛 Ask someone about their day
💛 Offer to help someone with a project or errand
💛 Make a donation
💛 Volunteer

The options are endless!

Intereach is committed to leading with kindness. That’s why we are championing the kindness movement every day, in every area of our work. 🫶

We were proud to sponsor and support the 2025 Aunty Jeans Elders Olympics in Wagga Wagga this week. It was a joyful celebration of Elders, Culture and Community.

The day was filled with connection, laughter and pride, bringing together more than 150 Elders from across the Murrumbidgee region.

Strong communities start with strong connections. 💛

Intereach is proud to be partnering with Rebus Theatre to make community activities more accessible for people with disabilities. 🤲

Stages of Empathy is a free, theatre-based training program designed for community members, organisations, and groups who want to make their spaces more welcoming and accessible for autistic people, and people with intellectual or psychosocial disabilities. 🎭

It’s already inspired participants in Deniliquin, Cootamundra, Albury, Wagga Wagga, Mildura, Griffith, Shepparton, Seymour, and Echuca and now it’s heading to:

📍 Bendigo on Monday 18 November!

If you’re part of a sports club, arts collective, hobby group or community organisation – or simply want to help build a more inclusive community – this workshop is for you.

Visit our Bendigo office at 426 Hargreaves Street or click the registration link in the comments to secure your spot. 👇

Not all disabilities are visible — and a little understanding goes a long way.

At Intereach, we’re proud to support both our staff and our communities through the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Australia & New Zealand initiative — a simple symbol that helps people signal when they might need a little extra time, space or support. 🌻

Just ask our multicultural worker Magdalena, pictured second left with Intereach Operations General Manager Kerri-Anne and Paul from Hidden Disabilities Sunflower at our Albury launch.

As someone with a hearing impairment, Magdalena says the Sunflower has helped her feel more empowered and in control when out in the community.🦻

“It’s such a joy to know that once the Sunflower is acknowledged, I need only point to my ear to know that a caring person will approach and ask how they can support me,” she said.

Join us in helping make invisible disabilities visible this . You can pick up a lanyard or pin from any of our 17 Intereach offices across NSW and Victoria. For locations, go to www.intereach.com.au📍
