Hot Wheelies = slam dunk for inclusion in Mildura! 🏀

We have just wrapped up our first season of Hot Wheelies, Mildura’s first-ever inclusive wheelchair basketball program – and it was a HUGE hit. ♿️

With season two already on the horizon, this program is set to become a real game-changer for Mildura’s sporting scene.

Public holiday office closures

Our Victorian offices will be closed tomorrow, Friday 26 September, for the AFL Grand Final public holiday, and reopening at 9am Monday 29 September.

🏆Our Shepparton office has already kicked a goal in team spirit with their Footy Colours Day celebrations!

🐱From Geelong Cats claws out to Brisbane Lions roaring loud, the office was decked out in scarves, banners, and plenty of passion. While the AFL premiership is still up for grabs, our team already took out the cup for colour and community – raising awareness for the Fight Cancer Foundation, which helps kids with cancer keep up with their education while they undergo treatment. 🦁

🏉 A quick game-day reminder:
• Our VIC offices will be taking the mark (closed) tomorrow for the AFL Grand Final public holiday.

🌻 Not all disabilities are visible. That’s why Intereach is proud to join the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Australia & New Zealand – a global program helping people with non-visible disabilities be recognised, respected, and supported.

Sunflower lanyards and products are now available at all 17 Intereach offices across NSW and Victoria, giving people the choice to discreetly show they may need extra patience, time, or assistance.

We're hiring for a couple of roles in the area and we'd love your help to spread the word.

We're currently looking for:
✨Two Community Support Workers (Home Care) to provide support to older members of the community. This role requires a Certificate III (or above) in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability or other related qualification.

✨Out of Schools Hours Educators to provide quality centre-based childcare for primary school-aged children. This role doesn't require any qualifications but some experience working with children would be an advantage.

Intereach Family Day Care educator Michelle reckons she’s got the best job in the world.

🏆Her passion, and innovative approach to early childhood education have already earned her a hat-trick win as Regional Educator of the Year for Mildura and Murray.

“It’s a reminder that the love, care, and effort I put into each day with the children is making a difference. I feel so grateful and humbled, and it just makes my heart full knowing the work I love is valued,” she said.

👏 Tomorrow, we’ll find out if Michelle is named a national finalist in the 2025 Family Day Care Australia Excellence Awards – and no matter the outcome, we couldn’t be prouder.

🐾 Anastasia’s lifelong love of animals has become her super-power, helping her build confidence, independence and new connections.

Diagnosed with autism meant school and employment were extremely challenging, but with support from Intereach and the NDIS National Disability Insurance Scheme, Anastasia is now:

📚 Studying a TAFE course in animal care
🤝 Making new friends
💪 Building her future career
