🏀 This is a picture of me testing full shoulder ranges approximately 4 weeks after tearing my AC joint in a national basketball game (impact injury).
🏀Highly motivated to rehab my shoulder in time to play finals, I worked diligently with Pilates rehab and managed to play 10 days post injury! 7 years on and I wouldn’t even know that I’d ever injured it!
💚I LOVE Pilates and I’m passionate about helping other people achieve these results. Athlete or not, we want to move and feel our best, right?
🔺Shoulder issues don’t just happen with an impact injury. In fact, most people I see have sustained an injury from years of wear and tear. This is usually a result of faulty movement patterns that they are unaware of!

⭐️HANDY HINT: as I take my arms overhead, I focus on externally rotating the humeral head into the shoulder socket (as if my palms are facing behind me) and I sink the arms right down into the socket - this helps me activate my lats so that my upper traps don’t overwork and this takes the pressure off the shoulder joint - best practiced laying in supine first.
