We all have toxic thoughts and if these are left unchecked they can develop into toxic habits causing many mental health issues.
1) embrace it donโt suppress it- describe it either to yourself or someone else, or write it down! Gather awareness.
2) Question the thought using who, what, when, why questions to dig deep and find the root. Also question any assumptions- is this thought a fact or assumption Iโm making?
3) Forgive yourself for having these thoughts. Often we canโt control what may pop up but we can control our reactions. Shame and guilt will only hinder your healing.
