Two announcements to make in one!

1. I will be moving my clinic space from Watsonia to the wellness loft at Diamond Creek as of the 10th of Feb onwards at (Hawthorn and Sandy will stay the same!)

2. I am so excited to announce that Dr. Nathen will be joining my team as of February, working at the Diamond Creek practice.

I have been mentoring Nathen for the past 5 years, and he is one smart cookie! Nathen is super practical, results driven and so caring and kind.

Nathen will be opening his books from now - so go book in!

He will be treating a wide variety of health complaints but he has a special interest in
•Paediatric complaints of a wide variety.
•Skin issues + acne
•Men’s health complaints
•Gut Health
•Gynaecological and fertility

Nathen is looking forward to working with you, so take the leap that will enable you to control your health instead of your health controlling you!!

Guess what… your acne doesn’t just flare up for fun.
There is always a reason - and this reason can be many different causes or a combination of both of them.
A really wise way to approach your flares is with curiosity… are these things I can manage / control myself… or is there something I need to do with the help of a professional?

I can’t begin to tell you the many people I treat that have no explanation for their pelvic pain. It’s a blessing that I get to support women on their journey to finding out “why” and actively being able to make them feel better 🙏

Sometimes all it takes is social idealisms, a bad moment, a traumatic experience in the past or comparison of yourself to others, to create this false sense of what your body is doing.
It’s hard to live in a society, where instead of tuning into our internal intelligence, to turn to Dr Google to tell us what is happening inside of ourselves.
Number one: being in autopilot ALL THE TIME can stop you from taking opportunities or risks that enable continue to grow and ultimately fulfil your happiness.
Number two: heart palpitations are normal biological process that is supposed to occur, especially if it is triggered by heat; dehydration stress; anxiety; or even just for no reason. Ongoing palpitations isn’t normal so get it checked out… but if this happens in the appropriate context or very seldom. You ok boo.
Number three: crying actually means that you care and that you have the ability to feel and process your emotions, especially the emotions of sadness and fear.
Number four: human beings are driven by meaning and if something doesn’t interest you or your brain does not perceive more positives than negatives from that task or experience, then your brain is not going to de - prioritise that and not give you automatic motivation. This doesn’t always mean you have a disease.
Number five: historical texts in China illiterate that period pain is completely abnormal and really shouldn’t be part of a healthy menstrual cycle. If you are experiencing pain you do not need you tough it out and pop and lots of ibuprofen. The idea would be to get an investigation as to why that period pain is occurring. Don’t put up with period pain that is so severe that it causes you to have a debilitation of your quality of life.

ENDO has a broad range of symptoms, which are unique to each endo warrior. This makes diagnosis hard because many of them are soooo similar to other conditions.
The severity of the condition, does not equate to severity of symptoms. So endo does not always fit the standard biomedical model of disease. Some of the worst endo can be symptom less, yet smaller amounts of endo can produce more pain & symptoms 🤷‍♀️
Some symptoms that can be overlooked, but could be related to endometriosis include:
•Painful s*x & insertion of tampon > often put down to a psychological reason ie stress
•Sciatica, lumbar pain > often mistaken for sports related injuries, or “ageing”.
•Iron deficiency > often mistaken for poor diet intake
•Diarrhoea / constipation / nausea > often mistaken for IBS
•Uncomfortable urination, burning, pain > often mistake for a urinary tract infection
•Constipation on period > mistaken for lack of fibre
•Clotty periods > often put down to being “normal”
When it comes to the complex diagnostics of endometriosis, always advocate for yourself and get on board with a team of health professionals that will listen to you and take action as needed.
