Liquid vs Power Foundation 🤔

💧 Liquid foundation is best for those with normal to dry skin seeking fuller coverage and more hydration. It is generally easier to blend than powder foundation and contains moisturisers and SPF.

🌫️ Powder foundation is better for those with oily or acne-prone skin seeking a matte finish. It provides lightweight coverage and can absorb excess oil without suffocating pores.

Ultimately, the type of foundation you use will depend on your skin. What matters most is the skincare you use underneath your foundation - quality moisturiser, primer, & SPF.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) might have paved the way, but Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) has stolen the show! 🌟

You might recall from our previous posts that a PRF treatment starts with a simple blood draw. Your blood is spun in a centrifuge to create a natural fibrin-rich serum. PRP works similarly, but separates just the plasma instead 🩸

Both methods are used to treat the same skin conditions, stimulating stem cells and the production of collagen, nutrients & antioxidants.

PRF is essentially the next generation of PRP, containing a higher concentration of white blood cells, fibrin & stem cells. PRF also stimulates faster healing & releases growth factor over time for longer lasting benefits.

Face Wash Face-Off 👊

Smooth: A gentle option for normal, dry & sensitive skin, known for cleansing without stripping natural oils.

Bead-based: Include exfoliating beads that help clear dead skin & dirt. Best for combination to oily skin that benefits from light exfoliation.

Scrub: Contain larger, rougher granules for deeper exfoliation. Best used only occasionally and avoided by those with sensitive skin.

Can tanning oils be used safely? 🤔

Tanning oils work by attracting & increasing absorption of UV rays, leading to a deeper tan. Some tanning oils contain SPF, though the amount is generally not significant enough to protect the skin from sun damage.

Pairing sunscreen & tanning oils together is not recommended as the oil can disrupt the SPF coverage, meaning you'll actually end up with less protection than indicated by the SPF rating.

Ultimately, any form of intentional tanning (with or without oil) can be damaging to your skin, especially without SPF. If it's colour you're seeking, then we suggest investing in self-tanning lotions or sprays!
