Perimenopausal weight gain can be confusing and frustrating, especially when we are told that belly fat (where we all seem to store during this time) is the most ‘dangerous’.

The truth is: We don’t need another punishing diet. We need nourishing strategies that work for our body, where it’s at now.

If you’re finding your body isn’t responding the way it used to in our 20s and 30s you’re not alone - and Lina is here to help!

Book your appointment on our website, or by email the clinic hello@somawomenswellbeing.com

Acupuncture is perhaps one of the most under utilised treatments in women’s health in Australia. Research shows it can reduce pain, regulate menstrual cycles, improve PMS, and balance hormones, without significant side effects.

The problem is, to work properly, studies show acupuncture is needed weekly or multiple-times-a-week to be effective.

This is can be difficult to manage for most women, both financially and fitting in the schedule.

At Soma, we offer women’s health acupuncture community style - having your individual treatment alongside others, in our beautiful yoga space.

With multiple drop-in times across the day, we can offer this at a seriously accessible of $40 (before rebates).

Call or email the clinic to book in 🧡

Sometimes the health and wellness industry forgets that women’s bodies are built different.

Life changes and hormonal changes mean that we respond differently to men, and these go through a predictable life cycle.

The truth is, as we get older our exercise and stress tolerances change.

Instead of telling you to push harder, try more, ignore your body’s cues, at Soma we invite you to listen, and learn to respond with kindness, respect, connection.

Because sustainable movement will always trump the adrenaline rush of fear-based grit.

If you’re ready to reconnect with your body and learn how to find consistency with all the internal changes, we’d love to help you come home to your body.

No mirrors at Soma is a deliberate design choice.

Our intention is to create a space where you’re not thinking about what you look like, or what anyone else is doing. It’s a place to come home to yourself, to your body, to rekindle a relationship based on respect and kindness, and be a little less serious.

Come exhale with us 🧡

Ever wondered if you’re too far gone?

One of my favourite findings in neuroscience is how our brains and bodies keep the ability to learn, grow, and change right up until we die.

So no matter where you are right now, it’s not too late to start kindling a new relationship with your body, with compassion, kindness, and responsiveness.

Maybe your body hasn’t given up, maybe it’s just looking for a little less force and some genuine, awesome humans to signal to your nervous system that you can belong somewhere.

Ready to find some consistency and community? Comment RELATIONSHIP below and I’ll share the easiest way to start moving with us.

The only country to make the day of their invasion their National Day.

We know for some, this day celebrates the life that we have here. Families who left countries of origin for a better life, to escape harm, to offer what was not possible to their children.

We also know that this day is one of great pain for many.

This day should be a recognition of the resilience of the First Nations people of this land, which for us at Soma the are the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples.

We acknowledge that land was never ceded. We recognise the harm that began with the arrival of Europeans and continues to this day.

We hope that our actions, however small, speak to the gratitude we feel to do life on these lands and to the hope of a different future.

Always was, always will be 🖤💛❤️

"Soma is truly a sanctuary for women who need space to give back to themselves (and let’s face it, that’s most of us).

I joined Soma through the ‘21 days to calm’ program with no prior yoga experience. Now, 6 weeks and 22 classes later, I can’t imagine life without it.

Each teacher brings their own unique style to the studio, though they share the same care, compassion and commitment to ensuring you get the most out.." says Melinda on Google

And that’s a wrap for 2025! Thank you to absolutely every single one of you who came through our doors and breathed life into Soma. 10 months since I moved my practice here (huge thank you to my beautiful clients who tolerated so many ups and downs and temporary shelters as we tried to get in!), and 6 months from our first class, I believe we are truly just beginning.

Not many of you know this, but Soma Women’s Wellbeing is a social enterprise. This means we exist primarily to enact social and community change. Everything in Soma is intentional to this end, and bringing it to reality is a dream come true.

Interdisciplinary clinics are the hardest to get up and running, and yet, here we are! Combining that with a movement and community arm has been challenging to say the least BUT WE DID IT and we will continue to grow from here. Thank you to and for your ongoing belief in me and this work.

2025 has been harder than I imagined, but simultaneously so much more rewarding than I could have imagined. My cup is full.

Thank you, to each and every one of you. Thank you for being part of a movement that is bigger than any one of us, to building a future where women are well, pinnacles of a society that cares about us all, that exists to support the wellbeing of us not just individually, but collectively.

To the clinicians at Soma - thank you for your presence, professionalism, kindness, and outstanding clinical care. To the yoga teachers - thank you for your dedication to your practice, your generosity and care in facilitating, and the energy you bring to Soma. Thank you ALL for your laughter, joy, support, and belief in this cause.

To Linda .moon who is moving onto amazing things, thank you for everything you brought this year. As I tell everyone, I don’t know where we would be without you! Blessings for your next steps.

I have exciting plans for Soma for 2026, and I can’t wait to bring these to you for our shared health and connection.

Sending ALL my love as we wrap up this Gregorian calendar year, and celebrate the gentle slowing down as we leave the Summer Solstice behind us.

Here’s to you all 🥂
