Mugwort 🌿 (Yomogi / 艾草)

It was a little chilly morning, so I brewed a cup of mugwort tea with fresh leaves from my garden.
Not only does it make a beautiful green drink, this plant has been valued and used for centuries in many countries.

Growing up in Japan, I’ve seen mugwort (Yomogi) used in so many ways—from food to medicine to rituals.

☯️ Chinese Medicine (TCM) - 艾草
• Properties: bitter, warm
• Functions: warms meridians, moves blood, dispels cold, calms the womb
• Special use: moxibustion / moxa (艾灸)

🇯🇵Japan (Yomogi)
• Medicinal use: tea, baths, poultices for digestion, circulation, women’s health
• Food: tempura, bread, kusamochi (rice cakes), etc.
• Spiritual: purification rituals, protection against illness/evil spirits

⚠️ Contraindications & Safety
● Avoid in pregnancy, heat conditions, and high doses.
●Always consult with a qualified practitioner before internal use, especially if you have underlying health conditions.

On the road, a red light can feel like an obstacle, a delay, or even bad luck. But what if we saw it as a GIFT — an invitation to pause and reflect?

In today’s fast-paced world, we often move without stopping, creating imbalance within ourselves.
Traditional Chinese Medicine teaches us to prevent disharmony rather than wait to cure it. Maintaining the rhythm of yin and yang — rest and motion — is essential for our well-being.

As spring arrives, yang energy rises, encouraging us to move and grow. Yet the body still whispers its own “red lights”, reminding us to slow down, rest and restore.

As we step into spring, Traditional Chinese Medicine reminds us of the Wood element, which is closely connected to this season.

🌳 In nature, Wood energy shows up in the upward movement of new shoots, the fresh green of new leaves and things are coming out of hibernation from winter.

💚 In our bodies, Wood energy is linked to the Liver and Gallbladder, guiding renewal, flexibility, vision and the smooth flow of Qi. When balanced, we feel clear, creative, and motivated; when stagnant, it may show as frustration, irritability or rigid, tight ligaments and tendons.

The orchids blooming in my home these past weeks remind me of the arrival of spring💐

Clinic Update – A Little Longer to Wait

I'm back on the Sunshine Coast after my trip to Japan, where I had the chance to share some Zenthai nourishment with local people. It was a beautiful experience, and I'm happy to be home again.

I had hoped to reopen the clinic in July, but the renovation is still ongoing. The space isn’t ready yet for treatments. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding. I’ll keep you updated as things move along and let you know as soon as I have a reopening date.
