A little bit about us! ✨

Deb and Ruku started Waratah Psychology in 2021. We had been working together for several years in a few community-based organisations. We created Waratah Psychology as a way of cultivating our shared values and therapeutic styles. We both value therapy which priorities authentic relationships with clients and providing therapy which is evidence-based, trauma-informed and culturally-sensitive. Waratah Psychology allows us to facilitate healing and personal growth for both individuals and the communities around us!

What to expect at your first session.

The first session is focused on getting to know you, your history and assessing your current mental health symptoms. Your psychologist will be interested in understanding your situation and will ask you a series of questions to determine how they can best support you.

Towards the end of the session, your psychologist may ask you questions about what you aim to achieve from engaging in therapy, and together create some goals to make sure you get the most out of your sessions! We always save time for questions at the end, so if there's anything you'd like to know or are curious about feel free to ask!
