Our yearly Howmans Gap getogether between Xmas and NY,was a huge succes. A wide variety of walks were on offer each day. The weather was perfect and it was nice to catch up with walkers from different walking clubs over a 4 day period. We shared many adventures, found lots of Alpine huts, climbed many hills and crossed quite a few Alpine meadows. Some people enjoyed a swim, others smelled the flowers and the coffee in Falls Creek was good too! We cannot wait to go again this year.

Boots Gully & Charlesford mine 16k: 6 walkers set off in ideal hiking conditions. First up the Charlesford mine, after which our journey through mining history continued. Along the way we bumped into two emus which were very curious and came right up to us! Last up was Boots Gully and Henderson Spring. The rain set in just as we got back to the car. Perfect timing!

Only 6 of us today, but we enjoyed a lovely walk through the historic goldfields area of Warrandyte. A few hills that everyone handled well and the weather was kind - a bit of drizzle, but the rain that threatened didn’t happen.

Mt Hotham day 2: a big day on the Razorback to Feathertop returning via Bungalow Spur to Harrietville. A hard 23k but WE DID IT!

We headed out to Kinglake today for our club hike. We started off on some ondulations to get warmed up before climbing Mt Andrews. The seemingly never ending ascent proved quite a challenge for some, while the loose surface on the descent caused some slips. We found a shady spot at a picnic ground for lunch before following a quiet stream back to the cars through the beautiful forest.

HG day 3 - Pretty Valley. A beautiful day for a hike through Alpine meadow with a wide variety of pretty flowers and awesome views.

HG day 2 - Mt Cope, Power Supply Hut, Ryder's Hut and High Plains Ck Falls. A cool day for a hike with plenty of flies buzzing around. Some brave people went for a swim in the Falls. An 18k hike mostly off track.

Every year walkers from various clubs gather at Howmans Gap for a 4-day hiking extravaganza. Hikers can chose from a wide variety of hikes ranging from easy to hard. Today some us hiked up Heathy Spur, Edmondson Hut, Mt Nelse and Johnston Hut. A good 20k.
