At Katie Rose Cottage Hospice, our purpose has always been simple:
to walk alongside people and families during one of life’s most difficult times, with compassion, dignity and care.
Hospice care is different to hospital care. It is not about throughput or bed numbers. It is about time, presence, comfort, and supporting both the person who is dying and the people who love them. Much of this care happens quietly; in homes, at bedsides, and behind the scenes, and isn’t always visible in statistics or comparisons.
Katie Rose Cottage Hospice exists because our community believed this kind of care should be available close to home. Every family we support, every nurse we retain, and every volunteer who gives their time reflects that shared value.
We know there are strong and thoughtful views about how hospice and palliative care should be funded and delivered. These are important conversations, and we respect the experience and passion people bring to them. At the same time, our responsibility is to ensure that care is delivered safely, ethically and sustainably.
Right now, our focus is on supporting families in our community, keeping our nurses in place, and ensuring the hospice can continue to exist for those who will need it in the future.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported Katie Rose Cottage Hospice over the years; through donations, volunteering, advocacy and care. Your support has mattered, and it continues to matter.
Thank you for being part of this community 💙
