As a Naturopath… yes, I’m PRO GLP-1 support 👏

And honestly? I think the fear and stigma mostly comes from seeing people use them the wrong way.

Too high dose.
No nutritional support.
No muscle-preserving strategy.
No understanding of metabolism, hormones or long-term health.

That’s when we see:

* Muscle loss
* Nutrient depletion
* Hair loss
* Skin sagging
* Bone density concerns
* Metabolism slowing down even further

And women coming out the other side lighter on the scales… but way worse off and less healthy 😔

But when used properly?
At the RIGHT dose.
With the RIGHT support.
They can genuinely be life-changing ✨

Particularly for women in their 40s carrying abdominal weight who feel like their body suddenly stopped responding no matter how “good” they are.

This decade matters.

Insulin resistance can develop silently for YEARS before blood sugar markers become obvious.

One of the biggest mindset shifts in perimenopause? ✨

Realising your body isn’t betraying you.
It’s changing. 🧬

And honestly… so are you.

So many women keep trying to force themselves back into an old version of who they were - physically, emotionally and mentally.

But healing isn’t about going backwards.

It’s about learning how to support the version of you that exists TODAY. 🌿

Different hormones.
Different stress load.
Different priorities.
Different nervous system.
Different person.

And that requires a different approach. 🤍

You can’t keep living like you’re 25… and expect your body not to push back.

In your 40s, this “say yes to everything, push through exhaustion” approach?

It starts to cost you.

👉 Your energy tanks
👉 Your weight shifts (even when you’re doing all the “right” things)
👉 Your mood gets shorter
👉 Your body feels… off

And still… you tell yourself to just keep going.

Be more disciplined.
Be less “lazy”.

No.

This is where most women get it wrong.

As you move through perimenopause, your body needs a different strategy.

More doing 🙅‍♀️ better results anymore.

Because when your nervous system is constantly under pressure, your body shifts into survival mode:

🚨 Higher cortisol

🚨 Slower metabolism

🚨 More fat storage (especially around the middle)

🚨Less patience, less resilience

So pushing harder?

It actually works against you.

Here’s the reframe:

✨Rest is not lazy.
✨Saying no is not selfish.
✨Slowing down is not “giving up”.

It’s how you regulate your system so your body can actually respond again 🧠

When your cup is full:

✅ You’ve got energy

✅ You’ve got capacity

✅ You show up better for everyone around you

So this is your permission:

⭐️ Stop trying to do it all.
⭐️ Start supporting your body like the woman you are now.

Because no one else is going to put you on the priority list.

And your body will keep asking for it… until you finally listen.

This is with any kind of weight loss if you want to keep your muscle anyway 💪

It’s all about getting the dosage right for you.

Your hormones changed.

⚡️ Progesterone drops
⚡️ Estrogen fluctuates
⚡️ Cortisol becomes easier to spike

So the old strategy of
“eat less and smash cardio”
starts working against you.

The goal now isn’t just fat loss.

It’s protecting muscle, supporting hormones and calming the stress response so your metabolism actually works with you again.

Because perimenopause needs a different playbook.

And once you understand that, everything changes ✨

Weight loss still has biological consequences.

Especially when you’re in a calorie deficit.

Your body still has to:

• maintain muscle
• produce energy
• regulate hormones
• run detox pathways

And those processes require nutrients.

Those building blocks don’t magically appear out of nowhere just because the scale is going down.

Modern tools can absolutely help people.
But biology still has rules.

Increase the demand. Increase the support.

Protein. Micronutrients. Resistance training.
And proper metabolic support.

This is where a holistic approach and nutritional medicine is critical.

Because the goal isn’t just losing weight.

It’s coming out the other side strong, metabolically healthy… and not completely ruined💪

Forget asking “What do I need to do to hit my goals?”
Ask instead 👉 “What am I unwilling to do to get there?”

Total reframe, right?

It cuts through the BS and shows you how much you actually want that goal.

That question will expose your excuses, your limits… and your priorities.

For me? Accountability is the thing I can’t skip. It’s what gets me showing up when I’d rather not.

So ask yourself…

💭 What are you unwilling to do to achieve your health goal? ...… and is that the thing holding you back?
