It's Cervical Cancer Awareness Week and this year's theme is
" The Power of Choice" 💫

To protect yourself and prevent cervical cancer, there’s more choice than ever before:
🩵One (1) dose of the HPV vaccine free for all young people under 25 years, male and female, if you missed your chance at school age.
🩵Cervical screening tests every five (5) years for women and those with a cervix from age 25–74 years.
🩵Choose Your Screening Method There are choices:
a. Have your doctor or nurse perform a cervical screening test (Download the cervical screening Comfort Checklist to ensure this method is as comfortable as possible).
b. Self-Collection – talk to your doctor or nurse about choosing to collect your sample yourself.

If you are experiencing vertigo symptoms such as:

🟢Sudden spinning dizziness (especially with movement)
🟢Nausea or light-headedness
🟢Loss of balance nystagmus (eyes moving rapidly during an episode)

You may have Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)👂

Your inner ear has tiny crystals called otoconia that help detect gravity and movement.
In BPPV, some of these crystals become dislodged and move into one of the semicircular canals (the balance sensors).
When you move your head, the loose crystals shift and send false signals to your brain, making you feel like you’re spinning even though you’re still.

😖Common Triggers
- Rolling over in bed
- Lying down or sitting up quickly
- Looking up or bending forward
- Sudden head turns

Episodes usually last seconds to a minute but may leave you feeling unsteady for a while.

🩺 Treatment
Good news - BPPV can usually be fixed with simple head maneuvers like the Epley Maneuver guided by one of our physiotherapists, osteopaths and myotherapists.

As the weather warms up, we often see a spike in plantar fasciitis cases and it’s no surprise.
People are more active, walking more, running outdoors, or switching to unsupportive footwear like flip-flops and sandals. ☀️👟

This condition affects the plantar fascia—a thick band of tissue running along the bottom of your foot, connecting your heel to your toes.
When it gets overstressed or inflamed, it hurts a lot.

✅ Common Symptoms:
• Sharp heel pain (especially in the morning)
• Pain after long periods of standing or walking
• Tenderness or tightness in the arch

💥 Triggers:
• Sudden increase in activity
• Flat shoes or barefoot walking
• Tight calf muscles
• Flat feet or high arches

🦶 How to Get Relief:
• Stretch your calves and arches daily
• Wear supportive shoes (even indoors!)
• Ice your heel for 15–20 mins
• Use orthotics or seek allied health support if pain lingers

⚠️ Don’t let heel pain ruin your summer.
Address it early and stay active for longer.

📌 Save this post for later & tag a friend who lives in flip-flops!

-Patients who have received or will receive radiotherapy to lymph node regions.
-Those with swelling, heaviness, or early signs suggestive of lymphatic impairment.
