A warm welcome to our newest GP - Dr Sophie Armbrister, who commenced practice at DMC today.

Here's a little about Sophie...

Dr Sophie Armbrister is a mixed billing GP Registrar who completed her medical degree with distinction at Griffith University, following a Medical Science degree at Sydney University. She has worked in both metropolitan and regional hospitals across Australia, with broad experience in paediatrics, emergency medicine, and obstetrics & gynaecology.

Sophie is passionate about continuity of care and building long-term relationships with her patients. Her warm, bubbly nature helps create a safe, welcoming space where patients feel truly heard and supported. She values holistic, patient-centred care and aims to make every consultation informative, compassionate, and tailored to each individual—where no question is too small and no concern is overlooked.

Outside the clinic, Sophie loves travelling, music, board game nights, and getting outdoors—whether it’s hiking, playing tennis, or chasing thrills at a theme park. Her background in drama and teaching fuels her creativity and helps her connect with people from all walks of life.

Sophie will be working Monday through to Thursday and some Saturdays, and is available by appointment.

Edit: We have now completed our server changeover and everything is back up and running smoothly. To all our patients that were in contact with us over the last few days via appointments or over the phone, thankyou for your patience and for bearing with us during the transition! We are all very grateful to our wonderful IT guru, and happy to be on the other side of the change over now!

We will be completing a long awaited and much needed server changeover this weekend, and will be taking some of our services offline just until Monday.

All online appointment booking services will not be available from 5pm today until midday Monday, as well as online script and referral requests. This includes both through our website and HotDoc.

We will also be closing at 1pm tomorrow (Saturday 26th July) but opening as usual on Sunday and Monday.

All other services will be working as usual, and appointments during this time can be made over the phone by calling our friendly receptionists on 02 9819 6666. We apologise if it takes a little longer to get through over the phone including on Monday morning, but we will have all hands on deck as much as possible to minimise any time spent on hold waiting to get through to us.

Thanks so much in advance for your support and patience, and we look forward to enjoying a much more speedy computer system once its fully up and running again next week! 😊

The 2025 private adult flu vaccine has arrived and is now available for $20.
We're still waiting on the government/public (free) vaccine to arrive for those that are eligible. We will provide an update once it arrives.

A big welcome to Dr Brian Hua, our newest GP to join DMC! Brian commenced practice last week, and is available by appointment on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and some Saturdays.

Dr Brian Hua competed his medical degree at Western Sydney University in 2022. He has worked at Liverpool, Fairfield and Braeside Hospital gaining experience in Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. Brian made the decision to pursue General Practice due to his interest in holistic and integrative medicine and wanted to be involved in preventative healthcare.

Outside of work he enjoys cooking and staying active with a new found interest in martial arts training.

Brian is a GP who is currently undergoing the registrar training program to attain fellowship status with RACGP and be recognised as a specialist GP.

Welcome to Dr Martha James, who commenced practice at DMC today!

Martha is available by appointment Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and some Saturdays.

Dr. James completed her medical degree in 2021, at the University of Sydney. She worked at Gosford and Wyong Hospitals before choosing a career in General Practice, gaining experience in Emergency Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Martha enjoys all areas of general practice and looking after patients of all ages. She has particular interests in Paediatrics, Women’s Health and Mental Health. Martha is passionate about preventative healthcare, and has completed a Masters of Public Health at UNSW.

Outside of work, Martha enjoys staying active with her dog Cocoa, reading and cooking.

Dr James is currently a GP registrar, which means that she is a fully qualified General Practitioner currently completing fellowship training through the RACGP to achieve specialist General Practitioner status.

Dr James is an employed GP at DMC Medical Centre, is private billing, and will be available by appointment on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and some Saturdays.

It’s a momentous but sad day today as we farewell our much loved and special member of the DMC family, Dr Linda Pope, who retired on Monday after an inspiring 35 year career as a General Practitioner. We’re going to really miss her, but very much look forward to hearing about her wonderful adventures in the future. Linda, we wish you the absolute best of luck and thank you for all your kindness and wise experience over the many years as a GP at DMC ❤️
