Not long ago, Spear & Arrow was just an idea on a lounge room floor in Dubbo: what if kids in the bush who were labelled too hard, too difficult, too much finally had a place where they were understood, supported, and believed in?
That idea has taken us all the way to the Stevieยฎ Awards for Women in Business, where we are finalists across four categories:
Social Change Maker of the Year โ Disability - for being bold enough to change how regional families raising children with disabilities are supported.
Female Employee of the Year โ Business - for our Practice Manager, Macy Morrow, whose calm leadership and integrity hold our team together.
Women-Run Company for Social Good - for proving that women-led, First Nations-owned organisations can change the systems that families had lost faith in.
Best New Product or Service โ Consumer Services - for Wiluray Gunyah, our Indigenous-led respite home that has already given families more than 1,400 hours of safe, culturally grounded care.
These wins are exciting and remind us why we do what we do - for the kids who need consistency of care and support, the mums hanging on by a thread, and the communities who refused to give up.
We're proud to be carrying the voices of Dubbo and the Central West onto a global stage. This recognition says loud and clear: regional families deserve world-class support.
