as we get ready to close for Christmas, we’d like to wish everyone a peaceful and safe holiday season

Through collaboration, mentoring, and shared learning, we’re seeing Indigenous Knowledge Systems gain the recognition they’ve always deserved, guiding how Australia understands and cares for Country.

🟡 every person grows best when their unique needs are seen, understood, and respected. when we truly listen to one another, equality becomes something we live, not something we talk about ✊🏽

in Aboriginal Culture, respect and inclusiveness are woven into the way we connect, care, and walk together - this spirit shapes how we live and creates a warm, welcoming space where everyone feels they belong

🌿 we are proud that it’s something deeply felt by all who share space with us - a gentle reminder that community is strongest when everyone is held with kindness

today, we honour our participants and their families 🙌🏽 thank you for trusting us, for allowing us into your lives, and for enriching our own in countless ways

🔥 each time we see our participants and our team mates achieve something we are reminded of the wondeful gift inclusion brings

and sometimes, the beauty of inclusion shows itself in the smallest, sweetest moments

☀️ this morning, while getting breakfast, Les picked up the rolled oats, looked at them with curiosity, and said:
“Darren, give that to the birds.” 🐧

🎙️ a simple sentence — yet such an achievement for Les

moments like this show just how far someone can come when they feel safe, supported, and included - growth doesn’t always arrive loudly; sometimes it’s found in tiny steps that fill us with joy

🟡 SUPPORTED LIVING SUCCESS!

🏠 Being out and about is wonderful — but nothing matters more than having a home that feels safe, supportive, and truly yours.

🩷 Lisa continues to amaze us with her growing confidence, skills, and independence. She lights up every conversation with her excitement to share her latest achievements.

After more than five years of support through Indidg Connect, and with the unwavering love and teamwork from her mum, Lisa is proudly steering her own life — making strong decisions, reaching her goals, and creating a future she’s truly happy with.

Some of Lisa’s incredible recent choices include:

👣 Walking daily & losing over 10kg through her dedication
✳️ Using Marketplace independently to buy drawers
👟 Purchasing footy boots so she can join in on league tag
🚭 Actively working toward quitting smoking
🫶🏽 Making safe, positive friendship choices

Her room is now fully set up and is a space where she feels comfortable, cared for, and safe.
