We invited Adrian Carey onto The Inclusion Project because inclusion starts with people and Adrian leads with genuine kindness.

He listens, meets people where they are and creates a safe, empowering space for people living with disability to move, heal and feel supported. That care extends beyond treatment—it’s about dignity, trust and connection.

Adrian doesn’t just talk about inclusion. He lives it.

Mark is a trained agronomist and works with farmers in his own business. Part of his work involves working with the whole farm family to plan short and long term, with both a farm business and people focus. Mark is working with the third generation of some families.

Mark leads our microenterprise program for people with a disability, and helps with the Inclusion podcast editing. He very much enjoys working with Cassie on the Ability West projects and helping people with a disability create their own unique and interesting job, through starting a micreoenterprise.

Sleep plays a powerful role in how we move, manage pain and support our mental wellbeing especially for people living with disability.

In this episode, Adrian Carey joins us for a gentle, thoughtful conversation about why rest matters, how sleep affects the body and small ways to support better sleep in everyday life.

This episode is about understanding your body, being kind to yourself, and recognising that wellbeing looks different for everyone.

🎧 A warm, inclusive listen.

REPOST: “How my body feels after a good night of sleep vs a poor night of sleep.

With shorter or poorer quality sleep these can happen:
- Your body cant fully recover from the days activity
- You can have a lower tolerance to pain or discomfort.
- You can have less energy for the day
- Your mental health and wellbeing can be impacted

So this is a real focus for the next month. “Sleep better and feel better.”

🎧 Adrian Carey breaks this down in this month’s episode of The Inclusion Project, exploring the importance of sleep, pain and some tips for a good sleep for people with a disability.

Founded in 2013 by Cassie and Mark, Ability West was born from years of lived experience in the disability sector and a clear realisation that too many unspoken rules were limiting where and how people with disability could belong.

Those rules quietly dictated access to work, social connection and sport.
Cassie and Mark decided it was time to rewrite them.

Ability West exists to help people rethink what’s possible in their lives and then support them to move toward something new, meaningful and joyful. Just as importantly, they invite the wider community to rethink what true inclusion really looks like.

The Inclusion Project podcast is part of that journey.

🎙Come with us and let’s rethink what’s possible, together.

A practical and eye-opening conversation you won’t want to miss.
