A sore neck is a very common occurrence amongst those who work in office or desk type situations, tradies, and heavy vehicle operators. Kids (and adults) spending extensive time on devices and phones, constantly looking at their laps is a leading cause of neck pain in todays world. A really nice stretch for the whole spine. Start on your hands and knees, and drop your glutes back onto your heels. Stretch your hands forwards, dropping your head between your shoulders towards the floor. You will feel this stretch through your back and upper arms. The further you stretch your arms out, the stronger the stretch.

Research says that moderate exercise is a great way to help treat and recover from back pain. Use the rule “any exercise is good exercise”. If you like one form of exercises over another then do it. If you prefer running to swimming then break those joggers out and hit the road, if you’re more of a yoga person then sign up to that class. 40 minutes of moderate activity 3-4 times per week will make a difference (especially if you’re currently doing 0 minutes!!).

With the warmer weather, we all know hydration is important. Ensure you are drinking plenty of water during these warmer days. If you are sweating, an electrolyte (like Hydralyte) can also be really beneficial, especially for children!
