At Liza Twohill ( name change from Macquarie Natural Health), our focus is on tailoring individualized care to meet your health and lifestyle needs. We won't set targets that you will never reach. We give you the tools to make positive changes to the most important person in your life - you! The human body has an innate ability to heal if given the right environment. It is designed to win, not lose. We use appropriate scientific testing to identify these changes and provide safe and effective professional treatment to help you achieve your optimal health so you can stay happy, healthy and strong. Liza Twohill brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her patients. Liza has a long association with complementary medicine and is passionate about finding the underlying problem to a patient's health issues, rather than looking for a quick fix. As a child, Liza's family embarked on a journey using both western medicine and naturopathic medicine to assist her father with a life altering health problem. This gave her an insight into how both medicines can work together to resolve chronic health problems and an appreciation of the importance of a healthy diet and balanced lifestyle in providing the right environment to allow the body to heal. Liza has a Bachelor of Health Science in Complementary Medicine and Advanced Diploma qualifications in Naturopathy, Herbal Medicine, Homeopathy and Nutrition. She has a passion for learning and regularly attends training and international conferences to extend her knowledge and keep abreast of current trends. As a nutritionist and naturopath, Liza is among a growing body of health professionals determined to understand the complex web of chronic health problems and work together to bring a more holistic, individualized and self empowering approach to medicine. Liza has worked in the health sector since 1995 and brings a wealth of knowledge understanding and practicality to her patients. She is known for her determination to get to the bottom of a problem and is clear about her role to empower, educate and facilitate each person through their health journey. She is a member of the following professional associations:

ā– Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS 8800)
ā– National Herbal Association of Australia (NHAA)
ā– MINDD Foundation
ā– Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM)

Trust your care, but also build your scaffolding.
It’s what will carry you through the long game.

For new and early-career naturopaths, the systems you create are just as important as the care you give. Read my full reflection on building a sustainable practice over on LinkedIn.

I’ve always loved working one on one or in small groups. It gives me the space to offer real, personalised support that actually fits into people’s lives.

In regional Australia, this matters even more. Everyone’s circumstances are different and their care should be too.

🌿 Coonamble Landcare invites you to an important conversation 🌿

Living rural and remote can make it tough to access information and support, especially when it comes to women’s health. That’s why we’re hosting a free menopause information workshop right here in our community.

Join us for a relaxed, welcoming session where you can:
🌸 Learn practical tips for managing symptoms
🌸 Understand the physical and emotional changes
🌸 Ask questions in a safe, supportive space
🌸 Connect with other women who get it

Whether you’re approaching menopause, going through it, or simply want to understand it better, this session is for you.

šŸ“… Tuesday 16th September from 9am
šŸ“ Coonamble Plaza Theatre
šŸ’° Cost: Free
ā˜• Light refreshments and lunch provided

Let’s break the silence and start the conversation. Bring a friend and come along, because no one should have to navigate this stage of life alone.

When was the last time you had your eyes checked?

Headaches, tired eyes, or that feeling of constant strain can sometimes be as simple as needing new glasses or a quick script update. It’s one of those small things that can make a big difference.

If it’s been a while, go see Frankie at . Local care like this keeps our community strong, supported and well looked after.

WHY do some people hate corriander? Some people hate coriander because of a simple DNA variation. A change in the OR6A2 gene affects how certain compounds in coriander leaves are detected by the brain. For these people, coriander’s natural aldehydes, which most taste as fresh and citrusy, register as soapy or pungent. This difference likely evolved as humans adapted to different environments and local plant foods, meaning our taste preferences can be partly traced back to survival and regional diets.

Ok, let's keep it civil but we would love to hear. Do you like or dislike this herb? And why?

You might be experiencing burnout :(

Most of us have days when we feel helpless, overloaded, or unappreciated— when dragging ourselves out of bed requires the determination of Hercules. If you feel like this most of the time, however, you may be burned out. Burnout is a gradual process. It doesn’t happen overnight, but it can creep up on you. The signs and symptoms are subtle at first, but become worse as time goes on. Think of the early symptoms as red flags that something is wrong that needs to be addressed. If you pay attention and actively reduce your stress, you can prevent a major breakdown.

There's so many things we can do to help when you're feeling burnt out. I am currently a part of a research study to investigate the use of certain supplements on burnout.

If you're feeling like this might be you and you are local to my clinic in Dubbo, I'd love to hear from you.
