Liza Twohill Holistic Health

Liza Twohill Holistic Health Naturopath, mentor, speaker. Advocate for regional and remote health. I want a more resilient regional Australia where chronic disease is not a reality

At Liza Twohill ( name change from Macquarie Natural Health), our focus is on tailoring individualized care to meet your health and lifestyle needs. We won't set targets that you will never reach. We give you the tools to make positive changes to the most important person in your life - you! The human body has an innate ability to heal if given the right environment. It is designed to win, not los

e. We use appropriate scientific testing to identify these changes and provide safe and effective professional treatment to help you achieve your optimal health so you can stay happy, healthy and strong. Liza Twohill brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her patients. Liza has a long association with complementary medicine and is passionate about finding the underlying problem to a patient's health issues, rather than looking for a quick fix. As a child, Liza's family embarked on a journey using both western medicine and naturopathic medicine to assist her father with a life altering health problem. This gave her an insight into how both medicines can work together to resolve chronic health problems and an appreciation of the importance of a healthy diet and balanced lifestyle in providing the right environment to allow the body to heal. Liza has a Bachelor of Health Science in Complementary Medicine and Advanced Diploma qualifications in Naturopathy, Herbal Medicine, Homeopathy and Nutrition. She has a passion for learning and regularly attends training and international conferences to extend her knowledge and keep abreast of current trends. As a nutritionist and naturopath, Liza is among a growing body of health professionals determined to understand the complex web of chronic health problems and work together to bring a more holistic, individualized and self empowering approach to medicine. Liza has worked in the health sector since 1995 and brings a wealth of knowledge understanding and practicality to her patients. She is known for her determination to get to the bottom of a problem and is clear about her role to empower, educate and facilitate each person through their health journey. She is a member of the following professional associations:

■Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS 8800)
■National Herbal Association of Australia (NHAA)
■MINDD Foundation

I’m currently having a little R&R and like all holidays it isn’t always perfect 🪰🪰.

I love going inland and connecting with nature, red dirt and exploring. We came here last year and loved it.

This year 🫣😳🪰🪰. Still love it, but it is different. It is so green and lush, even though we forgot fly protection, it is still magical.

I had a lot of time to think on our wilderness walk yesterday while I kept my mouth firmly shut so I didn’t enhale 1000 flies.

Life isn’t perfect, business isn’t perfect and health cannot be controlled. What can be done however is to let go, surrender to what is happening in the moment and navigate what is in front of you and hopefully find a solution to get you through.

Sometimes the solution is worth it, sometimes it is a stepping stone to a better one.

Always learning and accumulating knowledge is important, however it can be overwhelming and confusing. This is relevant for both managing chronic health issues and also running a business.

Once you have a solid foundation, clarity is the answer.

Keeping the focus clear, treatment achievable and businesses that are consistent always provide better outcomes.

Conferences have not always been part of my professional journey.

There have been times in my mid career when I felt it was just too hard to get there while juggling a family and small business, it was too expensive and I questioned if I would learn enough.

What a mistake that was! I remember vividly telling a industry colleague at a conference after not attending one for two years to never let me do that again.

What happens beyond the presentations is priceless.
It’s the shared vision
The conversations in between.
Celebrating what you have achieved
The moments of reflection that shift how you see your work

In practice, especially in regional settings, it can feel isolating at times
The responsibility, the complexity, the emotional load

Stepping into a space with others in the profession changes that
It reminds you, you're part of something bigger and that growth is ongoing.

I would love to know if you have had times like this?
Not that you need to go to conferences, but times when you connect with your tribe and it sustains you

Places in Australia that are absolutely under-rated.

Why do I show you this?

Because there is something deeply powerful about the outback that often goes unseen… just like regional health in Australia.

These places hold resilience, quiet strength, and a way of living that doesn’t shout for attention, but sustains entire communities.

And it’s the same in regional health.
Behind the scenes are practitioners, families, and communities navigating complexity, distance, and limited resources, yet still showing up every day with care, commitment, and adaptability.

What’s often overlooked isn’t lacking… it’s just not always visible from the outside.

Maybe it’s time we start paying closer attention to what’s already here, supporting it, strengthening it, and recognising its value.

Because when regional Australia thrives, so do the people within it.

Meanwhile, Trace changing outfits like it’s her job description 😁.
Hope you can bring some fun into your work day.

Steadiness builds trust.

Not volume. Not visibility for the sake of it.

In healthcare, trust is shaped through clarity, consistency, and how you communicate your values over time.

Personal branding, when understood properly, supports this.

It strengthens not only the individual practitioner, but the profession as a whole.

I’ve shared my perspective on why this matters more now than ever in my blog,

“Sustainable practices follow the same rule as farming… you cannot deplete the soil and expect abundance.”

We’ve normalised running on empty
In health. In business. In life

But just like the land, what you don’t replenish will eventually give way

Sustainability isn’t about doing more
It’s about protecting the foundation that everything depends on

Your energy
Your capacity
Your rhythm

Because long-term impact is built on what you sustain, not what you push through
