This National Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June), the theme is a powerful call to action: 'All In'.

Reconciliation isn’t a spectator sport. It’s not a passive activity, and it isn’t solely the responsibility of First Nations people. It requires every one of us to step off the sidelines and commit to change every single day.

🏠 Big Changes are Coming to SIL: What You Need to Know

From 1 July 2026, the NDIS is introducing new rules for Supported Independent Living (SIL). To ensure the highest standards of safety and quality, all SIL providers must be NDIS registered.

At Westhaven, we believe that a house is more than just a building—it’s a home. As we move toward this new regulatory landscape, we want to ensure our participants and their families feel informed, secure, and prepared for the transition.

🔍 What’s changing?
The NDIS is mandating registration to guarantee that every provider meets strict national standards and undergoes independent audits. This means:
✅National Standards: Strict compliance with NDIS Practice Standards.
✅Greater Oversight: Increased accountability for participant safety.
✅Consistency: A reliable benchmark of care, no matter the provider.

What does this mean for you? 🫵
If your current provider isn't registered by the deadline, they will no longer be able to provide SIL services. We recommend taking these steps now:
🔸Verify: Check if your current provider is already registered.
🔸Talk: Consult your Support Coordinator about how this affects your plan.
🔸Review: Ensure your living arrangement still meets your goals for independence.

Moving to a new town is a massive milestone, and David is already thriving. Since arriving, David has been busy:
