We are excited to welcome the newest member of our team, Dr Ewan Smith!

Who is Ewan……

Having received my training in the beautiful city of Perth, I am excited to contribute to the health of our community as a registrar in Sport and Exercise Medicine.
My journey so far includes valuable stints with the Perth Demons in the WAFL, and I am eagerly stepping into my third season with the West Coast Eagles WAFL team. These experiences have not only shaped my clinical skills but have also instilled an understanding of the unique demands and challenges faced by high level athletes.
My areas of interest lie in acute sports injuries, sports nutrition, and bioenergetics. Over the past two years, I have had the privilege of assisting Orthopaedic Surgeons in managing upper and lower limb conditions, providing invaluable insights into the surgical management of sporting injuries. This experience has fortified my commitment to delivering comprehensive care, combining medical insight with an individualised patient approach.
Away from the medical arena, I am a fervent kiteboarder and an enthusiastic club hockey player. These pursuits (and their accompanying injuries) have helped form my deeper understanding of the physical demands of various sports.
My mission is clear: to extend the same level of care and advice to athletes of all levels within our community that is typically available to elite sportspeople. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or an aspiring enthusiast, I am dedicated to supporting your journey towards peak performance and overall well-being.

Welcome to Dr Tane Eunson who is a medical doctor in the Australasian College of Sports and Exercise Physicians’ specialist training program. Tane has degrees in science and sport psychology prior to obtaining his medical degree at the University of Western Australia. Before moving into private practice he worked in orthopaedic surgery, cardiology and emergency medicine at Sir Charles Gairdner and Hollywood Private Hospitals.

Tane currently works for the Fremantle Dockers across their womens’ and mens’ programs and is the national team doctor for Touch Football Australia. He is a member of the match-day medical team for the Western Force and was the Australian tour doctor for his beloved Crusaders in the 2021 Trans-Tasman Super Rugby competition. He still works one day per week in the operating theatre assisting orthopaedic surgeons in joint-replacement, ACL reconstruction and tumour removal.

At Sports Medicine Glengarry, Tane sees and treats all patients from the recreational to elite athlete. He is interested in the management of acute traumatic sports injuries, injection therapy and the management of osteoarthritis.

Welcome to the new Sports Medicine Glengarry page!

We are proud to introduce Dr Anthony Henderson to our team. Anthony is currently a Sports and Exercise Medicine Doctor and Registrar with the Australasian College of Sports and Exercise Medicine.

He has a background in Physiotherapy and has worked previously with Cricket Australia and Touch Rugby Australia, as well as teams in the NRL, AFL and Super Rugby. He is currently Team Doctor for the West Coast Eagles, working with their WAFL and AFLW teams.

Anthony is interested in all aspects of Sports medicine, including management of acute injuries, concussion management, tendinopathy and osteoarthritis.

Welcome to Sports Medicine Glengarry

*Covid 19 update We are still open for business. You can still come to the clinic for face-to-face consultations in the usual way. We have institiuted extra cleaning measures and social distancing between patients. You can check in by phone and wait in your car in the carpark if you prefer. Most new patient consults, and follow ups that require injections or other physical treatment will need to be done this way. We now also can do video consults where appropriate, usually via Zoom, or by phone if a video platform is not possible. This will be more appropriate for followups to discuss imaging reports and adjusting exercise programs etc. You can request a video or phone consult, our staff can help determine if this is appropriate and inform you of the fees.

Sports Medicine Glengarry was established in 1994 by Dr Duncan Sullivan as a multidisciplinary centre for acute and chronic injury management. The clinic started as an offshoot of Perth Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre in West Perth, where Dr Sullivan still consults part time. With over 25 years of Sports Medicine experience, while we provide services to elite sports, our focus is also on recreational and non sporting injuries.
