The Western NSW Local Health District is urging everyone to prepare, with severe heat forecasted in parts of our District this week.
Here’s what you can do to stay safe:
✔️ Close blinds & curtains early to keep the heat out
✔️ Stay indoors during the hottest part of the day
✔️ Keep hydrated—carry a water bottle with you!
✔️ If you’re working outdoors, take breaks, wear a hat, and hydrate regularly
Some groups, including the elderly, babies, and those with medical conditions, are more vulnerable to the heat, so be sure to check on friends, family, and neighbours.
Signs of heat-related illness include:
❌ Headache
❌ Dizziness
❌ Nausea
❌ Fatigue
❌ Cramps
If you or someone you know experiences these symptoms, get to a cool place, hydrate, and seek medical attention if necessary.
