SJ's Equine Bodyworks

SJ's Equine Bodyworks Provides Equine Bodywork to improve horse's overall flexion, balance and gait. SJ’ Equine Bodyworks is owned by and operated by Sarah Stewart.

Sarah has owned horses for 30 years and has been working in the equine industry since 2015. Sarah is a Reiki Master and qualified practitioner in Equine Tension Release Therapy (ETRT). SJ’s Equine Bodyworks can improve your horse’s flexibility, responsiveness, softness and overall structural balance, through the application of gentle pressure and manipulation of muscle and soft tissue techniques. These techniques are designed to relax your horse so your horse can restore balance, heal, recover, and be comfortable ready for their next ride. If your horse is not performing at it’s best, than contact Sarah Stewart for a chat about your horse on 0427 676 226 or via messenger through Facebook.

Thank you to Scone and District Pony Club for the invite to attend their Pony Club Rally Day 🙏

Everyone was keen to get involved in the carrot stretch exercises and hear how they can help their horse 🐎.

I love sharing my knowledge and my passion for bodywork. This work 💯 fills my cup. Photo courtesy of Bec White

This month I have worked with my regular and some new clients in the areas of Tamworth, Boggabri and Hunter Valley regions. They have ranged from private properties, trainer establishments, agistment centres and equestrian riding centre, covering a wide range of disciplines.

My bodywork sessions are tailored to the individual horse, as each horse is unique depending on their body, history of injuries, workload, the rider's biomechanics and what the horse is presenting when being ridden.

Bodywork is not necessarily about "fixing one particular issue or body part ". It's about improving communication right across the horse's entire body and mind, so the horse can perform at their best in their current condition.

Here are just a few of the things my hands on approach can feel and achieve:

🐎 Quieten the sympathetic nervous system (flight or fight) to support emotional safety throughout the session.

🐎 Feel the fascial glide or restriction and encourage softness.

🐎 Sense a subtle brace or yielding and establish a sense of trust, so the horse can just "let it go".

If this sounds like what you could be looking for then send me (Sarah) a message or call, text me on 0427 676 226.

I work in Tamworth, Boggabri and the Hunter Valley regions and in between these regions every month 😊.

Hello Everyone 😊 Welcome to the 2026 Australian Stock Horse Society National Show at AELEC 🐎

I am the proud sponsor of the Affinity Equine Insurance 5Yr Old Challenge Led and Hack Classes. I hope all riders and their horses arrive safely in Tamworth over the coming days.

I will be on site throughout the show and am currently taking bookings. My work is a combination of massage, manipulation of muscle and soft tissue techniques. My flyers are around the stable complex facilities and my banner is located in the main arena.

For bodywork bookings please contact Sarah on 0427 676 226 and your horse will thank you.

Best of luck to all competitors.

What a fantastic webinar hosted and facilitated by Yogi Sharp (The Equine Documentalist) and presented by Dr Kevin Haussler (Veterinary Compendium).

I've been talking about this very topic (horses adopting compensating movement patterns) this month with a few of my clients. So perfect timing for a deeper dive into this area.

This webinar covered how horses adapt to pain, weakness, instability and restriction. How these short term survival strategies can evolve into long term performance and soundness problems.

Loved it 🙏🐎🥰

I'm back working with heavy horses again with Elle and Ruby in my home town of Tamworth.

Elle and Ruby are preparing for their show season. Both mare's have had time off. They needed a bodywork session so their movement became more fluid, co-ordinated and effortless once again.

It was a scorching 43 degrees in Narrabri earlier this week 🥵.

This stallion is loving the attention and entertained us throughout his bodywork session, by demonstrating his feel good moves 🥰.

ClancyStud Vagabond is preparing for his show season and ASHA 26 Nationals. I wish him and Kate all the best 🐎🙏

Happy Australia Day - enjoy your day 😊🐎
