We’d seen plenty of off-the-shelf options, but none that matched the quality or feel we were after. With our background in construction, we knew we could do better… So we built one ourselves, using materials that would actually last.

Where it all started. The first Steam Lodge sauna wasn’t built for a client, it was built for us.

We were looking for something with real integrity — built from quality materials, designed to perform, and made here in Australia to handle the elements. But nothing on the market met the mark. Too many products were off-the-shelf, overhyped, or simply not built to last.

So we decided to build it ourselves. Using durable materials, thoughtful design, and a focus on both function and form. That first build, right in our own backyard, became the blueprint for everything Steam Lodge stands for.

It’s still part of our weekly routine. Still going strong. And it set the standard for everything we’ve built since — the spark that shaped what Steam Lodge has grown into.
