2 years of Motiv Chiropractic - and you know what, that’s worth celebrating!

Both the most fulfilling, and most challenging 2 years of my life. I’ve learnt lots, laughed loads and helped a whole lot of people get back to doing what they love.

It is not lost on me how lucky I am to have people put their trust in me every day to help them get out of pain and move better.

So a big thank you to anyone that has supported my little business over the last 2 years in any way. Particularly to the team at for always being in my corner. Here’s to many more years 🎉

At Motiv Chiropractic we look at pain and injuries through a well rounded musculoskeletal lens, and treat you as a human with a multimodal approach.

Aka everyone is different, every injury is different, and your treatment will be different to the next person.

Load can often be the cause of injury, but it is also often used in rehab.

Load can be influenced in these 3 key ways:

🅧 FREQUENCY: How often you train, play, or do an exercise
🅧 INTENSITY: How hard you are pushing (weight, speed, effort)
🅧 VOLUME: How much work you do (sets, reps, distance)

With many injuries there is a de-loading period which is useful to help settle down pain, this is where we can play with the above 3 factors to vary load and keep you moving. The important next step is progressively loading the area to build up tolerance to an activity or exercise. Need guidance on load tolerance? I’d love to help.

HYROX can push your limits, and injuries can creep in.

Here are 3 common ones:
+ Achilles Tendonitis: Caused by repetitive stress and overuse, this inflammation can result from the rapid transitions in HYROX between running and strength exercises.
+ Patellofemoral Pain (PFPS): Pain around the front of the knee, often due to sudden increases in running volume, lunges, or sled pulls without proper progression.
+ Low Back Pain: As your aerobic and anaerobic systems are pushed to the max, fatigue and poor mechanics can overload the lower back, especially in the later stages of a HYROX race.

Some tips to avoid these:
- Warm-up dynamically, mimicking movements at a lower intensity
- Progress gradually with both running and strength training
- Manage fatigue with rest and recovery between sessions

A bit of the story behind why I became a Chiro 🫶🏼
Growing up, I was always on the move – from riding horses to wakeboarding and snowboarding. With the adventurous sports came the inevitable injuries, broken bones, headaches, and neck and back pain. Chiropractic and physio kept me going, and my curiosity about the human body kept me asking questions.

I’ve always loved science and found the human body fascinating. Pairing that with my love for connecting with people, I realized I could bring my two passions together through chiropractic.

After five years of study and two degrees, I graduated as a chiropractor. The first few years in practice taught me a lot about the type of practitioner I wanted to be, which ultimately led me to start Motiv Chiropractic.

Today, I’m proud to be building a practice that’s evidence-based, movement-focused, and most importantly, people-centered. And the best is still yet to come.
