Being an OT is never “easy”.

It’s a role that demands constant action and endless compassion, not to mention years of study and ongoing training.

It’s a lot. And too often, it goes unrecognised.

While it shouldn’t take a special ‘day’ to celebrate what you do, it’s at very least a time to put into words:
We know you change lives.
We know it isn’t easy
And we’re here to support you.

Thank you to our wonderful network of Seating Matters OTs. See the link in our bio for some useful resources.

One of our most commonly asked FAQs: How to conduct a Seating Assessment?

While every client is different, there are some set rules to follow.

REMEMBER:

Follow the ‘Three Stages’. This means conducting an assessment in your client’s current chair, while they are lying supine (flat), AND while sitting unsupported on a firm, level surface. 🪑🛏️

Start With the Pelvis. It influences posture of the trunk, legs and head.

Identify Flexible vs. Fixed Postures.
