Last month, our Seating Matters and teams partnered for a group training session on therapeutic seating and early mobilisation.

Hosted at Revital Healthcare in Melbourne, the program was tailored for their team of . It included a detailed walkthrough of the seating assessment process, followed by two practical workshops exploring custom wheelchairs and clinical chairs.

Together, we’re equipping clinicians with the knowledge and tools to find the right seating solutions for their clients.

A good news story today from our partners at - who are part of the Seating Matters family.

Daniel is a passionate disability advocate and long-term client of Motion Wheelchairs. He relies on his wheelchair and vehicle every day for work and independence.

Earlier this month, Daniel’s car was stolen from his home in the Mornington Peninsula, and his fully customised wheelchair left abandoned, badly damaged.

Yesterday, our team had the privilege of surprising Daniel with a fully restored chair, while the incredible presented him with a replacement vehicle.

To help Daniel get back on the road with confidence, Motion Wheelchairs will also support and cover the cost of installing speciality drive controls into his new car.

We’re so grateful to and for sharing Daniel’s story and helping make this moment possible.

A 2024 international study of 200 allied health professionals caring for people with dementia has reported positive outcomes from using Seating Matters chairs.

Key results include:

70% reported a major reduction in agitation
53% reported a notable reduction in pressure injuries
86% reported an increase in time out of bed
73% noted increased engagement in social activities.

When a chair makes all the difference.

This elderly client, who lives in an aged care facility, has advanced dementia and signs of paratonia. She was unable to tolerate sitting for periods longer than 1 hour.

The Seating Matters Atlanta 2 clinical dementia chair was recommended for its cocoon-like design, sensory feedback, and integrates postural support features.

The result? The client was now able to sit comfortable for 6+ hours a day, with pain-free transfers, and proper positioning.
