Today we pause to remember the men and women who have served, and continue to serve, in our defence forces at home and abroad.

We honour their courage and sacrifice.

Lest we forget.

Frangipani and Elke are two of the quiet stars of our farm 🐄

They’re well loved (and very well fed!) by our students and participants, who enjoy spending time with them. Their manure helps us create rich, natural compost, but what they give back goes far beyond that.

There’s something special about being around cows. They’re calm, steady, and completely non-judgemental. For many of the people we support, time with Frangipani and Elke can ease anxiety, create a sense of connection, and build confidence in a really gentle, natural way.

Whether it’s feeding time, a quiet moment in the paddock, or simply being close by, these interactions help support emotional regulation and bring a sense of calm to the day.

Not bad for two very humble farm girls 💛

Seniors Week 2026 was a great reminder of what makes our community so special - connection, creativity, and plenty of shared laughter along the way.

Our seniors enjoyed a full program of activities designed to try new things, catch up with friends, and simply enjoy being together.

From native plants and morning tea at the Community Environment Centre, to a lively singalong with musician Mark, a Seniors Photo Shoot with the talented Mel Hayes Photography, chair yoga with Pramod and R**t from Yoga Tribe, bingo, photographic recollections, and creative watercolour painting with Marie from Dural Art Studio. There was something happening every day.

We also headed out into the community for a lunch outing and joined students for an intergenerational singalong at Hello Hornsby, along with a visit to the Life in Colour exhibition at Wallarobba Arts & Cultural Centre.

A big thank you to our guest speakers and facilitators who generously shared their time and skills, our participants, and the Warrah staff who helped bring the week together so smoothly.

More than anything, the week was about slowing down, connecting, and celebrating the stories and energy our seniors bring to Warrah every day.

Ever thought your empty cans and bottles could do something amazing? 💚♻️

With Return and Earn, you can donate your container refunds directly to Warrah, turning everyday recycling into real support for our community.

This quarter, funds raised are going towards a new coffee machine for our Waaia Café ☕️

How to donate:
• Download the Return and Earn app
• Select “Donate” as your payout
• Choose Warrah Society
• Scan the app at a machine and drop in your containers
• That’s it, 100% comes to Warrah

No app? No problem! You can also drop eligible containers into the Return and Earn tub on the back verandah at Waaia.
