Not all magnesium is created equal… and cheaper isn’t always better.

We often see supermarket supplements using forms like magnesium oxide, which may look good on the label, but is actually one of the least absorbable forms for the body. In simple terms, you’re paying for something your body struggles to utilise.

On top of that, many over the counter products contain added excipients such as phenylalanine, soy derivatives, and sulphites (like this one) ingredients that don’t support your health and may even aggravate sensitivities in some individuals.

Practitioner only supplements are selected with quality, absorbability, and therapeutic outcomes in mind. This means:
• Better forms of nutrients your body can actually use
• Fewer unnecessary additives
• Doses tailored to your individual needs

When it comes to your health, it’s not just about taking a supplement, it’s about taking the right one.

If you’re unsure what form of magnesium is best for you, we’re here to guide you!

For Diana, herbal medicine is at the heart of how she supports her clients’ health.
Each herbal tonic is carefully prescribed and hand blended to suit the individual and designed not just to address symptoms, but to gently cleanse, strengthen and uplift the mind, body and spirit.

With roots in ancient healing traditions, Diana values the power of using the whole plant, recognising that true healing comes from working in harmony with nature. It’s this approach that allows her to support both the physical body and the deeper emotional layers, guiding her clients back to balance in a truly holistic way.

“…the only rational, logical extension of how human being exists in nature is that the plants serve as medicines and have the power to restore physical health. Even more, the subtle energy of plants can impact the emotional and mental regions with their essences.”
— A.S. Wheelwright

Magnesium glycinate is a highly absorbable form of magnesium that supports healthy sleep patterns. It works by calming the nervous system, supporting GABA production (a key neurotransmitter for relaxation), and reducing muscle tension that can interfere with rest. Unlike other forms of magnesium, glycinate is gentle on the gut, making it ideal for regular use to improve sleep quality naturally.

Dry brushing is one of those simple habits that can make a real difference.

Your lymphatic system doesn’t have its own pump like your heart does, it relies on movement to keep fluid circulating. Dry brushing gently stimulates the skin and underlying lymphatic vessels, helping to encourage flow and reduce that “puffy” or stagnant feeling.

It can support detoxification, improve circulation, and even leave your skin feeling smoother and more energised. I usually suggest brushing towards the heart before a shower a few times a week, which is simple, affordable, and easy to stay consistent with.

Menopause is a time where your body becomes more sensitive to blood sugar changes, inflammation and nutrient deficiencies, so food choices really matter.

Eat more whole foods such as vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts and seeds to provide antioxidants and phytonutrients that support overall hormone balance. Include healthy omega 3 fats from foods like salmon, sardines, chia seeds and flaxseeds to help reduce inflammation and support mood. Lean protein from eggs, poultry, fish and legumes helps maintain muscle mass and keeps blood sugar stable. Fibre rich foods and complex carbohydrates such as oats, quinoa and sweet potato support gut health and steady energy levels. Prioritise calcium rich foods like leafy greens, almonds and dairy if tolerated, along with vitamin D to protect bone density. And aim for adequate water intake to support circulation, temperature regulation and energy.

Eat less saturated fats from heavily processed meats and fried foods, as they can worsen inflammation and cardiovascular risk. Excess sodium may contribute to fluid retention and bloating. Simple and refined carbohydrates such as white bread, pastries and sugary snacks can spike blood sugar and aggravate mood swings and fatigue. Caffeine and alcohol may worsen hot flushes, anxiety and sleep disruption. Highly processed foods often contain additives and inflammatory oils that place extra stress on the body.

Focusing on nourishment rather than restriction is key during this phase.

Our Wild Yam Ointment has quietly become one of our most repurchased products, especially for women moving through perimenopause and menopause.

So why do so many women love it?

Wild yam contains natural plant compounds that are traditionally used to support hormone balance. During menopause, when oestrogen and progesterone levels start fluctuating and dropping, women often experience hot flushes, night sweats, mood changes, and dry skin.

This ointment is used topically and many women find it helps support overall hormonal comfort during this transition. It’s a gentle, natural option that fits easily into your daily routine.

If you’re navigating menopause and feeling “not quite yourself,” this might be a simple place to start.
