๐ŸŒ™โœจ What is Lunar New Year? โœจ๐ŸŒ™

Lunar New Year is one of the most important celebrations in many cultures. It marks the beginning of a new year based on the lunar calendar, usually falling between late January and mid-February.

At its heart, Lunar New Year is about:
๐Ÿฎ Family reunions
๐Ÿงง Honouring ancestors
๐ŸŠ Wishing for health, prosperity, and good fortune
๐ŸŽ† Fresh starts and new beginnings

โœจ While traditions differ, the spirit is shared globally. No matter where itโ€™s celebrated, Lunar New Year is a time to reflect, reconnect, and welcome hope for the year ahead.

This February, in collaboration with Zen Oasis, we invite you to explore the meaning of the Year of the Horse through our cultural program at the AustrAsia Cultural Centre.

It is SUMMER SOLSTICE tomorrow. It occurs when one of Earth's poles has its maximum tilt toward the sun. Tomorrow is the day with the longest daylight hours and shortest night of the year in the southern hemisphere.

The summer (hot) season responds to a heart's (fire) functions. The signs and symptoms of a heart (fire) dysfunction can be oral ulcers, dry mouth, dry throat, facial acne, teeth bleeding, dizziness, itchy skin, nausea, restless, stomach reflux, abdominal bloating, diarrhea, restless, insomnia, muscular pain.

For the general health in summer, hydration can help the body to stay cool and function properly. Deep breathing exercise can help the mind to stay calm. Having warm meals with vegetables and plant-based protein helps with digestion.
