🌿 ANZAC Day is a time to reflect, remember, and pass on the stories of bravery and resilience to the next generation.

Tiny hands doing BIG work 💪

Toddlers are busy building their fine motor skills every time they:
🧩 Stack blocks
🎨 Scribble with crayons
🍴 Try to use a spoon
🧦 Help with socks or shoes

These small movements strengthen muscles in the hands and fingers — essential for independence and school readiness later on.

💡 Tips to boost toddler fine motor skills:
✔️ Play with playdough
✔️ Peel stickers
✔️ String large beads
✔️ Use tongs or pegs
✔️ Let them “help” dress themselves

If your toddler avoids these tasks or seems frustrated often, we’re here to help 💛

These aren't just fun firsts — they’re signs your child’s gross motor skills are on track 💪

🍼 By 6 months: rolling, holding head up
👶 By 12 months: crawling, pulling to stand
🧒 By 2 years: walking well, climbing, kicking a ball
🧍 By 3–4 years: jumping, running smoothly, pedaling a trike

⏰ Delays in gross motor development can signal other issues — but early support can catch things before they snowball.

Every child develops at their own pace — but there are key milestones to look out for.

👶 By 12 months: babbling, saying “mama” or “dada”
👧 By 2 years: 2–3 word phrases (“want more”, “go outside”)
🧒 By 3 years: strangers can understand 75% of what they say
👦 By 4 years: telling simple stories and asking lots of questions

If your little one isn’t hitting these, or you’re not sure — don’t stress. Just check in.
