Go and Grow Garden Boxes

Go and Grow Garden Boxes Go&Grow Garden Boxes is a collaboration building portable self watering (wicking) gardens using recycled materials. We support local community food growing

Go and Grow Gardens are perfect for the occasional gardener who is keen to grow fresh, healthy food close to home. The water efficient wicking design ensures optimal use of our precious water, and the 80 litre reservoir requires filling once a week (on average during Summer). Our Go and Grow Gardens:

Are made locally from beautiful recycled hardwood
Have been designed to be relocatable
Are a great height for wheelchairs, or the seated gardener
Contribute both cash and in kind to local community food growing initiatives. Our Story

Sara Hill developed the Idea for a Social Enterprise “Go&Grow gardens “ in 2014 in partnership with Future Employment Opportunities Justin Forrester, Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden specialist Brian Hosking, and Peppergreen Farm’s Roz Woodburn to address the growing need to:

provide more youth employment opportunities,
make food growing more accessible, and
build physical and mental health. In early 2016 the closure of FEO required Sara to take the business into her management under Connect Sustainability. Since then she has sourced a new builder and improved construction materials to recycled hardwood - which prolongs box life and gives a greater depth of grain and colour. Our key environmental and social outcomes have evolved to focus on the use of recycled materials, supporting community based local food growing and making it easier for urban gardeners to grow their own food.
