“I’ve been having neck and shoulder pain from working on the computer a lot. This practice feels so relieving for me. Thank you so much, Hoàng Lan! ❤❤❤”

Reading this, I feel both happy and deeply empathetic — because I know so many office workers are quietly struggling with this kind of pain every day.

Why does your neck and shoulders still “protest” even when you’re just sitting still?
There are three simple reasons:

Your shoulder muscles are overworking:
When sitting, we often relax our core and back muscles, causing the neck, shoulders, and upper back to tense up just to keep the head upright.
Holding that tension for 8 hours a day… no wonder it hurts.

Poor circulation:
Sitting for long periods makes it harder for oxygen-rich blood to reach your muscles, leading to stiffness, numbness, and fatigue in the neck and shoulders.

Spinal pressure:
Poor posture (forward head, rounded back) puts pressure on the spine, which can lead to discomfort, pain, and even tingling sensations.

60 minutes of yoga can’t undo 8 hours of poor posture.

For Hoàng Lan, yoga is not something to perform — it’s a way of living.

After many years on this journey, one thing has become clear:
You can spend 60 mindful minutes on the mat,
but if the other 8 hours are spent slouching, with your spine collapsed and your head leaning forward…
then yoga is simply trying to fix what you’ve been doing wrong all day.

Yoga doesn’t live only in that 60-minute practice.
It lives in how you sit, how you stand, how you breathe, and how you care for your body throughout the day.

With just a little more awareness each day,

DON’T TRY TO LOOK PERFECT, TRY TO FEEL 🌿

“Should my legs be straight like this?”
Many beginners focus too much on the “appearance” of a pose. But in Yoga, what truly matters is the “feeling” inside your body ✨

Two people may look the same:
🧘‍♀️ One is breathing freely, body relaxed
😣 The other is tense, holding breath just to match the pose

Yoga is not a competition. It’s a journey of connecting with your body 💛
When you breathe right and engage the right muscles, the pose will naturally become stable and beautifully yours.
Slow down. Direction matters more than speed 🌱

Today, close your eyes and feel your body instead of looking at the mirror.

There’s one student who always arrives in a rush.
She comes straight from work, sometimes still catching her breath as she walks in.

But once the class begins, she becomes very focused.
She doesn’t rush through the movements, doesn’t talk much.
She just practises — steady, quiet, and fully present in her own way.

Watching her over time, I realised something:
not everyone needs to slow down all day.
Some people just need a small pocket of stillness — and they hold it fully.
