They work hard, provide for their families, and often put their own needs aside for the sake of their loved ones.

We often see events such as the Olympics, commonwealth games, world championships, Australian Open, AFL and I could go on.

What we don’t see is this, our coaches, our teachers, the wealth of experience behind the athlete. These coaches have the wealth of experience often having been on these world stages themselves, the time, the dedication that goes into a simple weekly lesson.

I sit here at my son’s swimming lesson (a quick 30 minute lesson ) and reflect on my current clients that I see in the clinic. With some who are about to break into the world stage. As incredible as it is where they are now and where they are going I can’t help to just be in awe of these coaches, watching every stroke, every breathe, correcting technique, challenging them in every lap.

I just love it. I love seeing the beginning of superstars in the making, working with elite athletes and knowing that they began here.

Meet Sienna TOOHEY!

As many of you know Sienna is an absolute fish in the water and is becoming a household name.

Well I know Miss TOOHEY in a different way……..

She doesn’t like needles, she doesn’t like her psoas or abs touched and she especially hates when I do her “swimmers muscle” pic snapped by her mum.

Whilst she usually gets her way when she doesn’t want something it’s the unfortunate “we need to do this to get you race ready!” Answer I give her.

So to combat the protest all I have to do is give her a phone to watch Netflix- and her chosen movie is Shrek!
