No one really prepared us for this part.
Still raising teenagers.
Still in the trenches of school schedules, moods and late-night conversations.
And at the same time -
supporting parents who are ageing, slowing down, needing more.
For me, that looks like my in-laws living on our property.
Close enough to support.
Close enough to feel the shift daily.
We were told mid-life would bring freedom.
For many women, it brings responsibility from both directions.
And it can feel disorienting.
Not because we don’t love our families.
But because no one taught us how to hold everyone -
without abandoning ourselves in the process.
This season isn’t about coping better.
It’s about learning how to stay steady
while being needed on both sides.
And that requires something deeper than resilience.
It requires space.
Permission.
Regulation.
So many women are carrying this quietly.
You are not alone.
