Exercise for type2 diabetes

80% of people with T2D are obese, and sedentary lifestyle is considered as a key risk factor. Physical activity such as aerobic and resistance training can reverse defects of metabolism of fats and glucose, and improved glycaemic control providing benefits for those who suffer from T2D. The effect of exercise can possibly last for 24 hours or more.

Safety consideration and exercise recommendation:
* Avoid high-intensity activity, rapid changes in body position, and extremes in temperature which may lead to sudden death and myocardial infarction.
* Avoid exercises that can provide trauma to the feet where peripheral neuropathy results in insensitive feet: non-weightbearing activities are recommended, such as swimming, cycling, and arm exercises.
* Exercises for balance improvement.

Lower Back Pain? Here We Can Help.

Lower back pain is often related to prolonged sitting and/or activities like cycling and jogging that can lead to tight hip flexors, mainly Psoas, iliacus and Re**us femoris.

Here is why.
Tight or shortened hip flexors can cause pelvis anterior tilt and lumbar lordosis as Psoas muscles attach lumbar vertebrae body, and thus, contributing to facet joint irritation causing lower back pain or hypertension.

How to address the issue?
Trigger point technique/neuromuscular technique can be use to reduce muscle tension and spasm.

Myofascial release technique can help to release tight hip flexors and improve movement.

Stretching or muscle energy technique can be used to restore shortened hip flexors to the proper length.
