Medicare-subsidised lung cancer screening is now available for eligible Australians, through the National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP).

In most cases in Australia, by the time lung cancer is diagnosed, the cancer has already spread beyond the lungs, and when it is in late stages. The program aims to detect lung cancer early, which means patients can access more effective treatment options.

You may be eligible if you:
πŸ”Ή Are aged 50–70
πŸ”Ή Have no symptoms of lung cancer
πŸ”Ή Are currently smoking, have a history of 30 pack-years of smoking or quit within the last 10 years

Have a chat with your GP about a lung cancer screening. They can calculate your pack-years and provide a referral. Book an appointment πŸ‘‰ eastfremantle.ipn.com.au
