Understanding Ankle Sprains:

Ankle sprains are a common injury, especially among active individuals and athletes. Here's what you need to know to manage ankle sprains effectively:

An ankle sprain occurs when the ligaments that support the ankle stretch or tear, usually due to sudden twisting or rolling of the ankle.

Symptoms:
- Pain: Immediate pain at the site of the sprain.
- Swelling: Swelling and bruising around the ankle.
- Difficulty Walking: Difficulty bearing weight on the affected ankle.
- Instability: Feeling of ankle instability or giving way.

Management:
- PEACE (first 1-3 days) and LOVE: Protect, Elevate, Avoid ice and anti-inflammatories, Compress, Educate. After the first days have passed, soft tissues need LOVE - Load, Optimism, Vascularisation, Exercise.
- Protective Support: Use an ankle brace or strapping to support the ankle.

SLJ Syndrome is an overuse injury that involves inflammation of the patellar tendon where it attaches to the bottom of the kneecap (patella). It frequently occurs in children and adolescents who participate in sports that involve a lot of jumping or running.

- Knee Pain: Pain at the bottom of the kneecap, especially during or after activities like running, jumping, or squatting.

- Knee Pain: Pain and tenderness at the bump just below the knee, usually aggravated by physical activity.
- Swelling: Swelling or a visible bump at the tibial tuberosity (just below the kneecap).
