It’s not just “sensitive skin” or “a little redness.”

Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that can present as persistent redness, flushing, visible capillaries and reactive, easily triggered skin.

Common triggers include heat, UV exposure, alcohol, spicy foods, stress and incorrect skincare all of which can further compromise the skin barrier.

We now understand rosacea is multifactorial, with strong links to:

• Skin–gut axis and microbiome health
• Blood sugar regulation and inflammatory pathways
• Hormonal fluctuations
• Cortisol-driven stress responses
• Sleep quality and systemic inflammation

In some patients, changes in the gut microbiome may contribute to inflammation, sensitivity and flare-ups.

The gut microbiome plays a key role in:
• Regulating inflammation
• Modulating immune response
• Influencing skin reactivity

Rosacea is treated from both directions.

Inside: diet, sleep, stress, metabolic health, and microbiome support.

Outside: IPL/ lasers, barrier supportive skincare

The best outcomes come from combining both.

At SkinBox, some of our favourite essentials for rosacea include Dermiotic, Vitamin B, DermaCalm and ÜberZinc, alongside DermaGut+ to support the gut–skin axis from within. All designed to calm inflammation, strengthen the skin barrier and minimise reactivity.

Perfect for rosacea-prone clients.

If rosacea is impacting your skin, book a consultation today to explore the best treatment options for you.

Noticing tiny dark dots after your laser treatment?

These are called MENDs (Microscopic Epidermal Necrotic Debris) and they’re a completely normal part of the healing process after fractional and pigment-targeting laser treatments such as Pixel Laser by

When the laser energy targets pigment and damaged skin cells, tiny columns of treated tissue are brought up to the skin’s surface. This can appear as small dark dots or a light “sandpaper” texture over the treated area.

Over the following days these micro-crusts naturally lift and flake away as the skin renews, revealing brighter, clearer and more even skin underneath. They are thought to represent the elimination of pigment and damaged keratinocytes following treatment.

Most patients notice MENDs settling within 5–7 days, depending on the treatment intensity.

✨ Post-treatment tip:
Keep your skin well moisturised and avoid picking or manual exfoliation while your skin heals.

Healing is part of the process and part of the results.

Her favourite treatment? She can’t pick just one.
Hydrafacial will always be her go-to for maintaining healthy, glowing skin year-round, while Alma laser treatments are her choice when it comes to deeper skin rejuvenation.

Georgia’s particular interests lie in laser and IPL treatments, especially ablative and vascular lasers, she loves seeing the instant skin response and transformation these treatments can achieve.

When she’s not in the clinic helping patients reach their skin goals, you’ll find her at Pilates, walking her cavoodle Maple, catching up with friends or at the beach.

☕ Coffee order: Almond long mac topped up
🍸 Favourite cocktail: Margarita
🐶 Can’t live without: Her furbaby Maple
🎶 Currently listening to: R&B, house and always a bit of Justin Bieber
