Highlighting the importance of Check4Spots Day, an important post from our friends at MIA
Today is 'Check4Spots Day’, a day which was started by Peter and Julie Mansell in honour of their daughter Morgan, who passed away from melanoma in 2018 when she was only 25.
"We started to try and make a difference in our own small way and carry on the massive impact Morgan had made through her blog https://dontmswithmorgs.com and social media.
Now in its 5th year, every January 30 (Happy Heavenly Birthday Morgy), at the end of the long hot summer holidays, we thought it was a good time to remind everyone to grab a partner, friend or family member and check your skin for suspicious looking spots, especially in those hard to see areas (scalp, back, etc). The good news is that survival rates are high with early detection. You know your own body better than anyone else and with regular self-examination, you are best placed to identify anything suspicious. Then if you have any concerns, book that all important appointment with your doctor ASAP." - Peter and Julie
So please Check4Spots today! See https://melanoma.org.au/about-melanoma/checking-your-skin/ for details on what to look for.
