One of the wonderful people we work with is raising funds for Starlight! As some of you may know, their cause is close to our hearts.

The people at Starlight have brought light to so many dark days, providing a joke, a dance, a balloon, or running their own TV channel. One day, my son was invited to be part of one of their mini concerts broadcast to all the other kids in their rooms. Starlight brought him pride, inclusion and joy on a day when you'd think those emotions were impossible.

NEW GROUP! 'Level Up' Therapeutic Group

We are going to be running a group for Teens and young adults. Check it out below! If you are keen to link someone you know in let us know ASAP! 6 spots. We can look at running more groups if needed. We will screen each person to make sure the right people are together.

The details:
6 weeks (covering the topics in the pic)
Starts week 2 - Term 1 !
Thursdays 4-6 pm (snacks provided)
mini graduation at the end
Run by: Two Practitioners! one Psych, one Behaviour Practitioner
Cost: 1 standard therapy hour per person for the 2 hours each time.

In the last few weeks some families have been working with really tricky behaviours. When behaviour is really hard to manage a model I always love to go back to for navigating complex behaviours is the PACE model. It simplifies a very complex situation and brings us back to basics, while the visual I’ve made won’t suit all situations truly ask yourself if you are seeing each of these elements. They really matter!

Meet Alison
Alison is one of our Senior Psychologists. She is new to the team, but brings many years of experience. Her area of expertise is Perinatal psychology, which means she supports people with;
- Perinatal (antenatal and postnatal) depression and anxiety, which affects up to one in five new mothers and one in ten new fathers.
- Birth trauma or distressing labour experiences.
- Miscarriage, stillbirth, and loss.
- Difficulty bonding or attaching with the baby.
- Adjustment to parenthood and changes in identity and relationships.
She has around 5 spots before there will be a wait to get in to see her.
