Across the two days, Emma and Tiffany cover key strategies for increasing client engagement and motivation, MANTRA case formulation, working with clients to improve emotional tolerance and cognitive flexibility, and how to increase the support of close others in treatment.

Schema Therapy for Eating Disorders - 4 Evening Sessions.

When your client's eating disorder is entangled with entrenched core beliefs, self-critical patterns, and coping modes that keep them stuck, schema therapy offers a way in.

This training focuses on applying schema therapy techniques specifically to eating disorder presentations and comorbidity. You'll get practical experience with imagery rescripting, chair work, working with vulnerable child modes, and setting limits on the punitive inner critic patterns that drive eating disorder behaviours. Videos and live demonstrations are used throughout.

It's run as four evening sessions across two weeks, so you can attend without taking days out of your caseload.

Presented by Dr Susan Simpson - a Clinical Psychologist with 20+ years of experience using schema therapy with complex comorbidity, and co-author of Schema Therapy for Eating Disorders (Routledge, 2019).

📅 28 & 29 April + 5 & 6 May 2026

New training for April - DBT for Eating Disorders in Private/Solo Practice.

Eating disorder treatment can be more challenging when your client is also navigating trauma, emotion regulation difficulties, or patterns that interfere with the therapy itself. DBT offers a structured framework for working with these presentations alongside your existing eating disorder treatment approach.

MED-DBT stands for Multidiagnostic Eating Disorder - Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. The "multidiagnostic" is the key - this model was built specifically for clients who have an eating disorder alongside other co-occurring conditions, not an eating disorder in isolation. It applies the full DBT framework rather than an abridged version, and was designed for complex presentations including anorexia nervosa.

This two-day training teaches you how to apply DBT strategies from the MED-DBT approach within individual therapy - without needing a full DBT program behind you.

Presented by Shelly Hindle, a Registered Clinical Psychologist who developed one of the first MED-DBT programmes in the world for adults with anorexia nervosa, and co-convenor of the 2025 inaugural international MED-DBT conference.

It's that time of year when some of our wonderful admin team members at Centre for Eating, Weight and Body Image are moving on to complete further studies! (❤️💔)

Over the years, we’ve been fortunate to have some incredible psychology students join our admin team in between either undergrad and honours, or honours and masters. This role offers many opportunities - from learning the ins and outs of Medicare and intake processes, to developing practical skills around supporting clients, to helping coordinate Zoom-based training with eating disorder trainers from across Australia and the world! And of course, you’ll get to work closely with our wonderful and inspiring team of clinicians!

This is a minimum 30 hours per week role, and very much suited to someone studying psychology (or taking a study break) who wants hands-on experience in a supportive, evidence-based team environment.

The role is hybrid - part work-from-home and part on-site at our East Melbourne clinic.

Ten-session CBT (CBT-T) is being adopted in services internationally as a structured, time-efficient approach for treating non-underweight eating disorders.

In December, Professor Tracey Wade will present a two-day live online workshop exploring the CBT-T model, including treatment structure, nutritional and behavioural strategies, exposure-based work, body-image tasks and relapse planning. Clinicians will have the chance to see demonstrations and practise the model in small-group exercises.

We’re looking for a wonderful administrative assistant to join our team!

This role suits someone who wants a break from study (or who has finished studying for the time being), and wants to use their knowledge and get some relevant experience.

This is a hybrid role, with a combination of in-person in either our East Melbourne clinic, or Albury-Wodonga clinic. We are hoping to find the right person who is keen to join us full time (or a minimum of 30 hours/week) for the medium to long term (ideally at least a couple of years).

You’ll be part of our admin/client services team supporting two psychology practices:

Centre for Eating, Weight & Body Image
Yarrawonga Mulwala Psychology

If this sounds like a good fit, please email your CV and a short cover letter to emma.sparenburg@cewbi.com.au

There’s no formal closing date - we’ll be reviewing applications as they come in.

CEWBI is opening a clinic space in Albury-Wodonga!

The Centre for Eating, Weight & Body Image (CEWBI) is expanding our evidence-based, client-centred care to Albury-Wodonga, and we’re inviting passionate psychologists to join our team.

At CEWBI, clinicians are supported to deliver best-practice, weight-inclusive psychological care through a best-practice structured training, supervision and development program. This includes access to our comprehensive training calendar of events with expert national and international clinician-researchers, many of whom also offer regular group supervision at CEWBI. We also provide over 60 hours each year of individual and group supervision each year. We provide a collaborative and supportive multidisciplinary environment, and dedicated high-level admin support so you can focus on what matters most - your clients.

If you’re passionate about delivering high-quality, evidence-based care and want to grow your practice within a supportive, research-informed team focused on maximising benefits for clients we’d love to hear from you.

Located in or near Albury-Wodonga? Or planning to relocate to the area? We’d love to hear from you!
