Introducing a unique 1:1 service for those struggling with their creative direction!

While researching accommodations to help me stay focused and on the right path, I came across the term 'Body Doubling.' A tool used by many ADHDers to increase focus and productivity.

I realised that this tool could be invaluable for business owners because accountability can be tricky when you are your own boss.
Being your own boss, and being in control of your own time and energy has some amazing benefits! It does however also mean that...you are in control of your own time and energy.

So what's better than having someone to keep you company and on task while you work?
Someone who can also do some of the work for you!

I am in the process of piecing together this service; Body Doubling sessions designed to get you back on track, providing on-the-spot support to help you achieve your creative vision and get your business visuals in sync.

I’ve experienced anxiety for most of my adult life, and it makes so much more sense now that I know I have ADHD. My brain is constantly inundated with thoughts; analysing and processing every little detail around me.

I’m gradually learning new ways to cope with the overwhelm.
It may seem simple, but this technique is a valuable resource to have in your pocket as it can be used anytime and anywhere [It's a great one for kids too!]

Last month I made the decision to rebrand as a ‘Creative VA.’
What does this mean?
My services will now focus on design, and the creative components of business admin.

For example;

▶ General Admin:
Email Templates, Canva Templates | Docs, Set up Brand Hub in Canva Pro, Pinterest [Repurpose SM Posts], Mood Boards, Newsletter Templates

▶ Software Accessibility | Proficiency:
Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Express, Canva Pro, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, Asana

This will allow me to dedicate more time and resources to upskilling, and ultimately provide a more efficient and thorough service to my clients 😊

I was recently given the opportunity to design a logo for a new business and present them with a full logo suite and brand guidelines (a first for me 🙏).

I had been teaching myself how to use Adobe Illustrator, and hadn't touched it for months.
I almost canceled my subscription 🤯

Getting back into designing really prompted me to niche down and focus on creating, seeing how much I enjoyed the whole process. Giving myself permission to follow my dreams 💕

Introducing 'Ashlea Bray Creative Studio!' 🥳

Full disclosure?
I actually launched my VA Biz nearly two years ago.

Despite having 14 years of admin experience, and experience providing support for a team of staff, it has taken me more than a little while to find my feet.

I started this business in the midst of a mental health battle, which has seen a lot of self-discovery and an eventual ADHD diagnosis late last year.

Getting diagnosed in my mid-thirties has been a rollercoaster! Finally having answers to questions I've been wondering about myself for my entire adult life.
It has been an extensive process with a lot of self-reflection and learning new strategies to overcome struggles and manage day-to-day life.

In building this new knowledge, understanding & accepting there is a reason my brain works differently (something I've known for a really long time!), I've been able to realign my business goals from a neurodivergent perspective.

And now? It feels like I'm just getting started!

Firstly, I am leaning into my creative side.
I've rebranded my biz; 'Ashlea Bray Creative Studio,' and I'm streamlining my services in more of a 'design & create' direction. Design and creativity is my jam, so it's what I'll be sticking with!

Secondly, along with realigning my services, I'll also be introducing a unique 1:1 service for those struggling with their creative direction. Stay tuned!

⭐ 5 Facts about me! 🌟
Hi there! I recently hit 100 followers on Instagram and thought I'd share a few things about me so you can get to know me a bit more 🙂

1. I studied Horticulture and Landscaping my first year out of high school, and went on to become a Landscape Designer (I even learnt to brick pave and build limestone walls).

2. The creative/designer in me has had me obsessed with the switch game Animal Crossing since its release last year and actually reminded me of why I needed creativity in my work role to be fulfilled.

3. Last year I started studying photography and love being able to use my own photos for my content. 📷
I only got my first DSLR in my thirties, as for the longest time despite loving photography, I believed I couldn't be a photographer! (Here's to breaking down and overcoming our own personal limiting beliefs 🥂💪)

4. The last two years have been massive for personal growth for me. Working through my Anxiety and building enough confidence to pursue a new career path as my own boss. I set up and started my business in the midst of my own mental health battles and there were times where it was hard to believe I could even make it this far.

5. I want to advocate for mental health, as my perspective in this area has changed so much. I truly believe my journey with my own mental health has made me a more empathetic and compassionate person and I'd love to be able to help small business owners who are struggling with overwhelm and mindset 🥰
