The person who is considered having low libido is often the one who feels they need to change…
When you’re in a relationship, libido discrepancies can be the elephant in the (bed)room for many couples.
The thing is that libido is impacted by many aspects. If you feel this is something that you would like to talk about in an environment that is supportive of your needs, then send me a DM!

Things I did this week in Battambang, Cambodia:

1. Embarked on our laundry pick up (it’s an effort, but worth not paying hotel prices!)
2. Bonding with my interpreter
3. Went to the Killing Fields of Battambang- heart wrenching!
4. Drank snake rice wine
5. Went on a bamboo train
6. Encountered monkeys
7. Witnessed Buddhist school children playing
8. Watched magical sunsets
9. Looked in awe as bats flew out of bat cave at sunset

I have another 2 weeks left in Cambodia. So much learning and growing to be done ❤️

Tell me you have more spare time now that uni is finished without telling me you have more time on your hands because uni has finished …
Well, for this year anyway….
I had changed my business name from Sarah Chopra Naturopathy earlier this year to, Sarah Chopra Wellbeing to encompass my forever growing modalities…
Feeling good about this one and embracing my multi modality era 🤌🏻

One thing about me is that I endeavour to provide evidence based practices in my services. I felt the urge to give a shout out to the Sexual Health & Integrative Pleasure (SHIPS) model!

Based on the Sexual Health model established in 2002, the time has come that it needed some much needed changes.

The SHIPS model has 5 philosophical underpinnings:
- Systems framework
- Intersectionality
- Biopsychosocial model
- Lifespan approach
- Empiricism

What does this mean? Well the model takes into account your age, ability, s*xual orientation, race, past experiences, social and cultural influences, physiology, and uses evidence based assessment tools.

The cool part is that the model also suggests using any of the 5 therapeutic components:
- s*xual literacy
- s*xual adaption & resilience
- relational intimacy
- pleasure oriented positive s*xuality
- multi disciplinary care

The model is s*x positive, strengths based and does not focus on s*xual dysfunction as most medical models do.

If you want inclusive s*xual health care that is evidence based or interested to know a little more. Send me a DM!

Vaginal atrophy- this is when oestrogen levels decrease with age and the vaginal tissue lining and v***a can become thin and tear/split (generally the onset begins during perimenopause, but splitting can also be from Lichen Sclerosis).
Chaffing, dryness, can even cause the use of toilet paper to be uncomfortable.
Vaginal pe*******on can be painful and bleeding may occur.
What are the treatment options?
Once a health history is taken and differential diagnosis has been addressed, you can:
- have a vaginal microbiome analysis to check your lactobacillus levels
- use natural pessaries of lactulose or probiotics that feed the bacteria that boosts oestrogen levels
- use topical oils to soothe and support vaginal atrophy and minimise tearing
- use alternative options for intimacy, alone or with a partner
- seek medical support from your GP or gynaecologist if your curious about using hormone treatment
- chat to a professional if your symptoms are affecting your mental health or relationships
Reach out and send me a DM if you’re wondering how I can help you!

Australian research has demonstrated that older adults (over 60) would like to talk about s*xual health to their GP, but wait for them to bring it up. While another study asking GP’s if they ask their older patients about their s*xual health, they said they are patient led! 🤦🏻‍♀️ I guess no one is talking about it then!
Older adults often feel embarrassed, not enough time in consult or don’t think their s*xual health issue is important enough to bring up.
Check out these conversation starters to get the convo going about your s*xual health concerns…

You might of noticed a little name change (or maybe not!) to using instead of naturopath. Why the change?
Because I have grown
My services have multiplied and even though naturopathy is still the vast majority of the services I offer, I also have hypnotherapy, counselling, yoga, and s*xology weaved into my practice.
My 3 pillars to wellbeing have not changed. I still firmly believe that are key to wellness. And it just so happens that all my services cover all 3 pillars! How about that?
Wellbeing means different for everyone. I recently did a survey and people’s s*xual wellbeing was a low priority. I totally get this. Most of us focus on our mental and physical wellbeing as this might impact our daily lives more. Whereas, s*xual wellbeing might only pop up from time to time.
But when does s*xual wellbeing shift?
Maybe when you are experiencing a recurrent UTI or thrush.
Maybe when you experience pain during pe*******on
Maybe your libido is low and your partner is ready to go all.the.time
Maybe your are questioning your s*xual orientation and it’s impacting your day to day life and relationship
Or maybe you don’t think it’s important enough to give it attention it needs and the problem is pushed to the side..
So wellbeing seemed a suitable word that encompasses our whole person.
Let me know what you think!

Hello & Welcome!

Thanks for stopping by!

My name is Sarah and as the business name suggests, I am a naturopath and yoga teacher. My passion as a naturopath has very much involved in improving gut health through nutrition and herbal medicine.

As my experience has grown. I have found that many of the people that visit me for support, need their nervous system to feel nourished and their mind to feel calm.

Many of you may have heard of the Brain-Gut connection. How our brain can impact our gut and vice versa. I have found this subject to hit home with me, and now after completing my yoga teacher training in 2018, I can finally incorporate my two loves of yoga and naturopathy to support not only your gut microbiome, but your mind through movement and nutritional support.
