AMT has just received formal written clarification from the Department of Health via Alan Tudge, Federal Liberal MP, regarding the Prime Minister's announcement last night.

Unless you are AHPRA registered (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) and providing services that are claimable through the Medical Benefits Scheme, you cannot provide massage therapy from midnight tonight.

Although government stated last night that Massage for Health benefits is still essential, the mounting pressure to social distance and the hands on nature of my work & my duty of care to my clients, family & self, has forced me to make the call to temporarily close my practice.

With many of my friends losing jobs and closing small businesses I have already felt the impact over the past two weeks.

My heart goes out to everyone. Those who are still working in essential jobs, I thank you for your service. To those laid off due to recent stages of Lockdown I send my love & support.

Now more than ever we need healing and I wish I could provide it.

Delayed onset muscle soreness or DOMS.

This is the pain or stiffness felt in muscles after exercise, training or sport.

You might feel DOMS anywhere from 24-72 hours after the activity.

Along with icing or compression, Massage can speed up the recovery process by moving inflammation and have you feeling pain free and ready to train or play again sooner.

Hands up if you’ve been a bit Domsy this past week. 🙋🏽‍♀️

Busy kids.

This is my 9 year old son. Like many kids he loves to be active. Athletics, football and even loves to go to the gym with his dad. I actually don’t think he does that much compared to some, from what I hear talking to other parents.

He does complain of sore legs though and it only seems fair that if I’m fixing everybody else, that I make some time for my own family too.

Last night he had a training session for athletics. Today he gets a massage. 👌🏽
