I am so excited to welcome you to the new space in Edithvale. After a year of expansion out of the home clinic and into Mentone, this new space in Edithvale is only 140m from the beach. While I am so grateful for the opportunity to grow my business at Mentone, it was time to spread my wings again. As you know my business is called Living Authentically, so I am constantly called to walk my talk and when something no longer aligns I have to take action.

Within the clinic there are other practitioners including a psychotherapist, psychologist and speech pathologist. As many of you know I am currently studying Gestalt Psychotherapy so this move feels very aligned.

I can’t wait to balance you in this beautiful space 💖

Sometimes all you have energy for is to get up and get through another day. It will pass and maybe not in the timing you would like and while can’t control our external world we can choose to be kind and compassionate with ourselves along the way. I’m not saying it’s easy, I know it’s not. Breathe, sing, cry, move your body, whatever helps you to not store the stress as much. Today’s sun rise has reminded me that no matter what is going on, nature always shows us the way. The sun will keep rising and setting and every new day is an opportunity, even when it doesn’t feel like it. Choose the more gentle path today 💖

🌊 The best way to end and start a year 🌊

2024 felt like a roller coaster filled with some screams that were “heck yer this is awesome” and some that were more of “nooooo, please stop”. While at times I thought it would be great to just skip over some of the challenging bits, I also know that when we do that, we miss vital opportunities to learn and grow which can cost us dearly.

Undigested life experiences and emotions don’t just go away. If an event, experience or emotion hasn’t been processed and released from the body it will sit beneath the surface until we can process it. The stress may come out in our thoughts, beliefs, behaviours, emotions or the body, sometimes when we least expect it, and sometimes long after the event has passed. For those that have children and have been working on intergenerational patterns, you will know it often comes out in them.

At the end and beginning of every year I take time to journal and answer some key questions that help me reflect on the year. This process gives me an opportunity to acknowledge and honour my experiences from the year, as well as accept things I may not have been able to at the time, release what no longer serves me, take forward the learnings and express gratitude for what has been. If there are things that are less than easy to accept or I don’t feel ready to, I find a healthier “place” for it while I open myself up to new potentialities for the year.

As we almost wrap up this year I like to take a moment to reflect on what has been. Here are my key take-aways from 2024:
- Self love, self compassion and self forgiveness are crucial in supporting the healing process
- The uncomfortability I feel in disappointing another is nowhere near as detrimental to myself as the feeling of self betrayal and self abandonment when I don’t honour my needs and boundaries
- Connection and belonging are fundamental to my sense of self and place in the world
- How important it is to my health, well-being, growth and development to surround myself with people who I feel safe to be myself with

This year saw the expansion of Living Authentically into a new clinic space .chiro and the closing of my Carrum home clinic. I took a year off running groups as I leaned deeply in to my new studies - Gestalt Psychotherapy, and integrated more 1:1 Constellation work into sessions.

It is always an honour and privilege to do this work 🙏 I never take for granted the vulnerability and courage it takes to continually show up for yourselves and your families by doing this deep inner healing.

A gentle reminder… “As you heal, know it is normal to uncover new layers of emotion that you didn’t know were there. This does not signal that you are sliding backward, it simply is a clue as to how capable you are of bearing witness to the entirety of your experience” - Chani Nicholas

At this time of year I like to take a moment to acknowledge that the festive season is not always an easy time for everyone. During this period remember to take care of yourself as much as possible. Breathe, ground, give yourself permission to rest, have moments of time and space to yourself when you need it and honour boundaries that support you feeling authentic, aligned and in your integrity. If things don’t quite go to plan, be gentle and kind with yourself. We don’t need extra layers of shame and guilt on top of what can already be less than easy times.

As most of you know I have been working from a clinic space in Mentone since August. While I have loved seeing clients in Carrum, my new space has expanded quicker than expected and to cater for this growth I will be closing my Carrum clinic from November 9th.

If you’d like an appointment in Carrum here are the final availabilities:
- Saturday 2nd Nov 10:30am
- Friday 8th Nov 1pm
After this date there will be no further appointments in Carrum. The home clinic has been a wonderful part of my story and I am so grateful for all the work that has been done in this space.

To continue working together, I am available in Mentone from Pure Chiropractic on Tuesdays & Wednesdays 9-7, and alternating Saturdays & Sundays 9-3. Online appointments via Zoom are also available.

I do this work with the intention of helping people connect more deeply with who they are and what is right for them so that they can live more of the life they desire. I look forward to continuing this work in Mentone.
