At Innovative Physio Pilates in Edithvale experienced experts who are passionate about their work can provide an accurate diagnosis and develop evidence based treatment for you, whatever your problem. Working with women, dancers or athletes and whether its musculoskeletal issues, incontinence, prolapse, mastitis, pre and post natal concerns or exercising in 1:1 or small groups in our functional fitness studio, our team works closely with clients for the best outcomes. Innovative Physio has been serving Edithvale and the surrounding areas for over 15 years. Our team, led by Gill Smith and Debbi Fretus, are up to date with the latest research. Staff has post graduate training in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, continence and pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation and advanced training in massage therapy - myotherapy. We can tailor a rehabilitation program specific to your needs. Real time utrasound available to teach correct action of the pelvic floor muscle and deep stablising muscles of the spine, incorporating the abdominal cylinder and diaphragmatic breathing - "core control"

At Innovative Physio we provide the following exercise regimes with a special focus on pelvic floor safe exercise:

o Pilates
o Functional fitness group circuit classes
o Antenatal/ postnatal exercise class
o GYROTONIC (R) & GYROKINESIS (R)
o Pilates for pregnancy & beyond
o Personal training/ Women's functional fitness
(mindfulness approach)
o Cardio/flexibility/strength/endurance/balance/
weight loss
o Pelvic floor and core functional fitness
o Breathing focus

We also offer Myotherapy which is the assessment, treatment and management of musculoskeletal conditions, which may cause muscular dysfunction and pain, thus affecting movement and mobility. Myotherapists utilise a range of treatment techniques to restore and maintain the normal integrity of the soft tissue structures (muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia). The aim of Myotherapy is to treat the cause as well as the symptoms of a wide range of conditions. Myotherapy treatment techniques include:
o Massage/soft tissue therapy
o Myofascial dry needling
o Trigger point therapy
o Cupping stimulates blood flow enhancing
healing and recovery
o Myofascial stretching
o Therapeutic and rehabilitative exercise
o Lifestyle and nutritional advice

Dance Medicine

Our focus is on Dance medicine which investigates the cause of injury, promotes the care, prevention and safe post-rehabilitation return to dance, and explores the "how" of dance movement.
