I've just finished reading an awesome book titled: The Horse Whisperer by Andrew Froggat. Presented as a book that talks about leadership and personal development through engagement with horses I found myself transfixed by words like 'patience, honesty, trust and simplicity' - which Andrew used when talking about responses from the horses. The book really reflected back to me that as people, words like the ones I've listed below are a NEED, not a want. When I think of my own life, the word that jumps out at me is F.E.A.R, I am so tired of feeling living in Fear, I would love to wake up tomorrow and never have that sense of constant uneasiness and pressure again. Does anyone else ever feel like that? I realise of course that my current life is my own creation, and a 'different' life will also be my own creation. I know also that - like all of us - I have the skills and talents (again like all of us) to eliminate the Fear causing elements from my life, so I will remember the wisdom from this beautiful book - and the lessons that I have learned from these horses - thank you (Andrew).
I hope this post finds you all living well whanau (family), and if not..that you are on your path to living well
arohanui (much love)

Kia Ora whanau,
Thought I'd start the day by sharing this quote with you I found in the book I'm reading at he moment E3 by Pam Grout:-). "When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote 'happy'. They told me I didn't understand the assignment, I told them they didn't understand life." - John Lennon, British musician and founding member of THE BEATLES

Man The last couple of days have really pulled on my heart strings, it's been both tough and cool at the same time. When I went back to my Maori language class after 3 weeks away I felt quite bad that I hadn't been there for awhile. But it was really nice because they (my fellow students) welcomed me back like a family, you could feel the love....it was humbling!:-)
today was cool for 2 reasons, firstly I achieved a goal I had had for a long time....I finally got me an apple computer. Too be honest it wasn't about the computer it was about how my mindset had changed from wanting, to manifesting..... And it came!
And finally I went to my Maori night class that I go to on a Thursday night. The reason I really go to this class is simply to be in the presence of our tutor. He is everything I admire, Humble, dedicated and very much 'on purpose'
I am very grateful for him in my life.
All the best whanau, take care and above all..enjoy!

I just got back from my latest tour of the south island on Thursday. In this role I am the tour manager for a 10 day tour of the south island where my clients are ( in this case) 42 German teenagers aged between 15-18 years old) who are living in New Zealand as foreign exchange students. In other words I along with my 'team' play dad to 42 kids!! As you can imagine its pretty full on and ultimately the responsibility for the success or failure of the tour falls on me. During the tour I come to rely on my 'team' quite extensively. This team consists of myself, my 2 chaperones/assistants and our coach driver. The chaperones aren't in a paid role and the drivers job is ... to drive. However I am all about leadership and shared management and see it as an absolute necessity for us to be united and work as a team, this is not always easy when you don't know your colleagues and/or assisting you isn't in their job description.
What I'll always remember about this tour was how our management team went 'deeper' than just a professional working relationship and how we really touched each others heart and souls and gained so much more. It was very cool to experience and I couldn't help but wonder how many workplaces really endeavor to make this 'heart' connection with their 'team?' and that if they did their business would be so much more successful because of it?
What do you think?

It was my wife's birthday the other day. We didn't do anything too 'flash', but we (my son and I) did make a bit of a 'fuss' over her and had a lovely breakfast and dinner together. She also went to lunch with some close friends, and they too made a 'fuss' over her.
She commented to me at the end of the day about just how 'loved' she felt. The next morning I said to her "I'm so happy for you that you got to feel loved yesterday". She replied "Yes, you know, we're always loved! its just our mind that 'mess's' it up for us"
I though that was very profound, and perhaps there's some 'awareness' in that comment for us whanau/family. So remember 'we are always loved!' and so don't let your 'head' (by playing negative mind games) mess things up for you!
Have an awesome day (and even better weekend)

I'm was in bed having a Sunday lie in, reflecting back on my Friday. I was thinking about how I had missed my first run up the mount for the month (I've been on a bit of a health kick the last few weeks and one of the 'goals' I'd set myself was to run up the mount everyday for a month). I came across an article in today's Sunday star times about running streakers I.e. people that run everyday for years. It just made me think about goals and addiction (of all things) and sometimes whether they're healthy for you or not? A question worth pondering I think???
As for me, I did contemplate running up the mount at 10:30pm after our rugby club prizegiving, but in the end I was happy to settle for a gym session and bikram yoga class.
Ps. I did get back 'on the wagon' and ran up the mount again yesterday.
Enjoy your Sunday whanau

I had my celebrant 'hat'on today and officiated at a funeral. Spiritual health is a core component of our well being. It was a beautiful ceremony, this elderly gentleman had lived a life of honour and integrity, and it really came through in his life celebration. It truly was humbling to be a part of, and I really felt blessed to be there:-)
