Bursitis isn’t just a localised issue.

Yes, it shows up as pain in the shoulder or hip.
But often, that’s just where the body is expressing a deeper problem.

Tension.
Inflammation.
Stress.
Hydration.
Chemical load.
Nervous system dysregulation.

All of these can contribute to why that tendon is rubbing and why the area becomes irritated in the first place.

Treating the pain alone might bring temporary relief, but if we don’t address what’s driving it, the cycle often continues.

At Thrive Health GC, we take a step back and look at the bigger picture.
Because when we support the underlying causes, the body has a much better chance of settling and healing.

💚 If bursitis has been lingering or keeps coming back, it might be time to look deeper.

Often we focus on the symptom, the back pain, the headaches, the digestive issues, the fatigue.

But the body doesn’t work in isolated parts.

Your nervous system, stress levels, gut health, movement, hydration, and daily habits all influence how well your body can function and heal.

When we start supporting the bigger picture, the body often responds in ways that surprise people.

Because healing isn’t about forcing change, it’s about creating the right environment for the body to do what it’s designed to do.

Plantar fasciitis is often treated by just trying to relieve the pain… rolling your foot on a frozen bottle, stretching the arch, or resting it.

But one of the most overlooked pieces is foot strength.

When the small muscles in your feet are weak, the plantar fascia can take on more load than it should, which is why that sharp heel pain often shows up first thing in the morning.

Instead of only chasing relief, strengthening the foot can help address the root of the problem.

Emma shares a simple way to start building that strength.

💡 Try the challenge:
Stand on a slightly unstable surface (like a pillow) and see if you can balance for 10 seconds. (Be mindful of your surroundings and have something stable to grab for balance when you need it)

Too easy? Try it with your eyes closed.

Physio, chiropractor, osteopath… who should you see?

It’s a question Dave has heard his entire career. But the real answer isn’t just about the title, it’s about the approach of the practitioner.

Are they only looking at the painful shoulder, sore back, or tight neck?
Or are they looking at the bigger picture, how your nervous system is functioning, your stress levels, hydration, breath patterns, gut health, and the other factors that influence how your body heals?

Because the body doesn’t work in isolated parts.

At Thrive Health GC, the focus is understanding what’s really going on in the system and supporting the body as a whole, not just managing symptoms.

Getting difficult news from an MRI or scan can feel overwhelming.
Disc injuries, degeneration, bulges, it can sound like a life sentence.

But imaging doesn’t always define what your body is capable of.

Many people continue to move well, train, work and live full lives even with significant findings on scans. Often, the body has simply gone into a protective state.

Recovery isn’t just about the cards you’ve been dealt, it’s about how you play them.

With the right support, movement, and nervous system regulation, you’d be surprised what the body can adapt to and manage.

💚 If you’ve been told there’s nothing you can do, it might be time to explore another approach.

Being told you “just have to live with it” after a disc injury can feel discouraging.

But a disc injury doesn’t automatically mean the end of movement, activity, or performance.

Often, the body has gone into a protective state. Muscles tighten, movement changes, and the nervous system ramps up to guard the area.

The focus then becomes restoring movement, improving communication between the brain and body, and helping the system feel safe enough to move well again.

Many people — including elite athletes — continue to perform and function well even with disc injuries.

Your scan might show the cards you’ve been dealt.
But how your body adapts and recovers is a much bigger part of the story.

💚 If you’ve been told there’s nothing you can do, it might be worth exploring another approach.

So often we focus only on what we’re eating.
Cut this. Add that. Remove gluten. Try another supplement.

But digestion is heavily influenced by your nervous system state.

When the body is in fight-or-flight, blood flow shifts away from digestion. Motility changes. Inflammation can rise. Symptoms like bloating, constipation, diarrhoea or abdominal pain become more common.

It’s not just about diet.
It’s about regulation.

When the nervous system feels safe, the gut can function the way it’s designed to.

If your digestion has been inconsistent or reactive, your body may not be broken, it may just be overloaded.

Headaches aren’t always “just” headaches.

Yes, muscle tension can play a role. But so can stress overload, nervous system dysregulation, gut health, inflammation, dehydration, and deeper underlying patterns.

If we only focus on cracking a neck or releasing one tight muscle, we may miss the bigger picture. And that bigger picture is often where the real answers live.

At Thrive Health GC, we take a holistic view. We look at the foundations, your nervous system, stress levels, inflammation, and lifestyle factors, to understand why the headaches are happening in the first place.

Because when we address the root cause, the body can finally shift out of distress and back into balance.

If headaches have been a constant for you, it might be time to look deeper. 💚

So many people are living in constant fight-or-flight without even realising it.

Poor sleep. Muscle tension. Digestive issues. Hormone imbalances. Anxiety. Chronic pain.

These aren’t signs that your body is failing, they’re often signs that your nervous system has been stuck in survival mode for too long.

At Thrive Health GC, our focus is helping your system shift out of stress and back into a state of regulation, where the body can finally rest, repair, and heal.

Because when the nervous system feels safe, everything else can start to fall back into balance.

💚 If this sounds like you, support may be closer than you think.

Perimenopause isn’t just about hormones, it’s about the whole system.

As oestrogen and progesterone shift, inflammation can rise, stress on the nervous system increases, sleep can suffer, and symptoms can feel more intense and overwhelming.

This is why support needs to go deeper than symptom management. It’s about helping your nervous system move out of constant fight-or-flight and back into a state of safety and regulation, where healing can actually begin.

When the nervous system settles, we can then support inflammation, gut health, energy, and overall balance.

If you’ve been feeling not quite like yourself lately, your body isn’t broken, it may just be overloaded.

💚 We’re here to help you shift back into balance.

⭐️ 5-Star Patient Love ⭐️

Brent recently shared how chiropractic care with Dave helped get his body back into balance, something he noticed almost straight away.

He also brought his daughter in after months of constipation, abdominal pain, and anxiety around how she was feeling. With gentle care and support, her system was able to settle, and she’s now feeling so much better.

Stories like this remind us that when the nervous system feels safe and supported, the body can begin to regulate and heal.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or not quite yourself, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

💚 Dave and the team are here to help your body shift back into balance.

Ever notice how when you’re stressed, everything feels more intense, your patience is shorter, your mood swings harder, and little things suddenly feel overwhelming?

That’s not “just your personality”… it’s your nervous system under load.

When your body is carrying physical, chemical or emotional stress, your system becomes more reactive. Irritation, frustration and mood swings are often just your nervous system trying to release built-up tension.

The good news? You don’t have to stay stuck in that cycle.

With the right support, your nervous system can learn to regulate again, helping you feel calmer, more resilient, and better able to respond rather than react.

At Thrive, our focus is helping your system shift out of overwhelm and back into balance so you can feel more like yourself again.
