A gentle Somatic Movement practice to release tension and improve mobility. These exercises focus on hips and lower back — helping you notice which muscles are contracting and which are letting go.

Somatic Movement (pandiculation) follows three steps:

When movement feels good, it becomes a habit — and that’s where wellness grows. ✨

That’s exactly why I love Somatic movement. The practice itself feels good — helping you release tension, calm your nervous system, and reconnect with your body. It’s not about pushing harder or chasing results, it’s about moving in a way that feels natural and enjoyable.

I used to think I didn’t have time.
Between work, family, friends, and the never-ending to-do list, the idea of adding another thing to my day felt impossible.

But deep down, I knew my body needed more than “getting by.”
I didn’t just want to stay mobile now — I wanted to still say yes to hikes, swims, and adventures in 10, 20 years’ time.

The problem? I couldn’t see how to fit it in.

It wasn’t until I realised I didn’t need an hour… I didn’t even need half an hour… that things changed.
I started with just 10 minutes a day.
On the living room floor.
No fancy clothes, no travel time, no overthinking.

And here’s the thing — those 10 minutes changed everything.
I woke up without that heavy, stiff feeling.
I moved through the day with more energy.
I started saying yes again.

Ever feel like your knees are taking the brunt of how you move?
Or maybe they’re fine—but you want to keep them that way?

Our Somatic Movement Community Class is on tomorrow at 10am at the Palm Beach Community Centre, and this week we’re exploring a session called:
Reset the Hips, Support the Knees.

It’s all about what’s happening above the knees—in your hips and pelvis.
When things get tight or imbalanced (which is super common), it can quietly shift how your whole body moves—and start putting pressure through your knees without you even realising it.

So we’ll be gently releasing the back, the inside and outside of the hips, and restoring balance through the pelvis—so your knees can move with more ease and less tension.

Perfect if your knees feel cranky.
Even better if they don’t—and you want to keep moving well for years to come.

We move slowly, mindfully, and always within a range that feels good for you.

It’s always so moving to hear when someone starts to feel a real shift—not just in their body, but in their whole system.
Steph shared this with me after just one week of using the app:

“I had been using the app for about a week when I went to my regular yoga class—I felt a real difference in my body.

I’ve had tightness and pain in my neck, shoulders and hips for as long as I can remember, and have been on a journey with different exercises and remedial treatments. While each has been helpful in its own way, I became aware that something was missing.

My body didn’t seem to know how to relax or let go. It was still holding tension—even in sleep. I’d wake with my shoulders hunched toward my ears. Intellectually, I knew what my body needed, but I couldn’t seem to do it on my own.

After just a few weeks, I can already feel my body and my nervous system starting to repattern—to remember how to soften, how to relax.”

Like your shoulders won’t drop, your breath stays shallow, and there’s just this low-level buzz running through you?

Mental health is something that touches all of us—often when we least expect it. Last year was a tough one for our family, and this cause is deeply personal. I’m walking for Beyond Blue because I know how powerful it is to feel supported, heard, and not alone.

Ever feel like you’re just going through the motions?

It’s so easy to slip into autopilot—doing all the things, ticking off the list, moving without really feeling.

When that happens, we lose touch with what’s actually going on inside. We stop noticing the subtle signals—the tension creeping in, the way we’re holding ourselves, the habits that slowly build into discomfort or dysfunction.

From the inside, it’s not the body we sense—it’s the experience of being in the body.
The sensations, the movement, the internal feedback that tells us where we are and how we’re moving.
But if we’re too distracted to notice it… we disconnect.

That’s why Somatic movement matters.
It gives you a moment to pause. To listen. To come back home to your body.

Not to fix or stretch or push—just to notice. To sense. To self-correct.
That’s where real change starts.
