If a Provider is Stealing from Your NDIS Plan.

Too often we are seeing statistics re unregistered providers- I seen yesterday a status quoting that only 4 percent of unregistered providers have workers with their NDIS worker clearances and other certifications and qualifications that NDIS registered providers need to have in place.
At Northern Assist Care, all of our workers have their NDIS worker clearances so we must part of that 4% (but hey, we all know how true the internet is baha).
We also ensure each of our workers have the following as the bare minimum;
- Cert 3 in Individual Support or equivalent
- Working with children's DCSI check
- NDIS Code of Conduct
- PPE
- First Aid Certificate
- Manual Handling Certificate
- CPR done annually
- Medication Administration
- Responding to neglect and abuse
Lots of times workers can have all of the above, but the most important thing that no certificate or qualification can provide is the time and experiences spent out in the field throughout the years, which mould each person into the wonderful supportive employees possible.
I am beyond proud of the wonderful team we have and believe we have some of the best supports in the northern suburbs, but know there are lots of other good supports and people in this industry out this way too.
Every one has their own opinions and experiences though, & sometimes what works for one individual definitely does not work for another.
Wishing you all a wonderful day 😊❀️😊

πŸ”₯ What is Burnout?
πŸ˜“ Burnout is when you feel really really tired and stressed.
πŸ˜” It can make you feel sad and not want to do things.
πŸ“… Burnout doesn’t just happen in one day; it builds up over time.

🚩 Early Signs of Burnout Can be feeling tired all the time.
😑 Getting upset easily over little things.
πŸ›‘ Not wanting to start tasks or go to places you usually go.

πŸ› οΈ How to Manage Burnout
πŸ—£οΈ Can you talk to someone like a friend or support person about how you feel?
⏳ What short breaks can you include in your day to relax or do something fun?
πŸ†˜ If everything feels too much, you can ask for help!

Changes to Carer's Payment

πŸ“… The rules for carer's payment are changing next year.
πŸ’Ό Carers will be allowed to work or study up to 100 hours over month - this is more flexible than the current 25 hours a week rule.
πŸš— Travel, study, and volunteering won't count in these hours.
🌐 This helps more people keep their carer payment.

More Support for Carers

πŸ› οΈ These changes come from a big plan called the Economic Inclusion Advisory Committee.
πŸ—¨οΈ Social Services Minister, Amanda Rishworth, said this will help carers work more flexibly.
πŸ’΅ The changes will cost 18.6 million dollars over five years.

Help for Women

πŸ‘© Over 70% of people getting carer payment are women.
🀞 I wish Carer's Payment also included paying Superannuation.

Background Info

πŸ“ˆ These recommendations were made to make life easier for carers.
πŸ›οΈ The changes need to be approved by the government to start.
